Well, they’d been talking for who knows how long. It was dark by the time they decided to head back for Nerima. She decided. He didn’t want to go back. Ukyou would be there. *I keep meeting all these people that look almost exactly like Pat…I must be cursed…* As they drove back, he realized he hadn’t really caught her name. “Sorry, but I kinda forgot your name…” he trailed off. “Oh, I’m sorry. I forgot to tell you. That’s odd…” “What’s odd?” “As far as I can remember, I’ve never once forgot to introduce myself to others…” “Oh?” “Ya. Well, when it’s appropriate…” “Oh?” the guy said, looking in her direction. “Ya. Well, when it’s appropriate…” *Weber has me going after so many people, I’m probably become too un-socialized. Not spending enough time with ‘normal’ people…* “…It’s Patricia. Patricia Scotts.” “…Patricia. Patricia Scotts.” He slammed on the brakes. “Excuse me?” “Is there something wrong?” she asked in response. “What did you say your name was?” “Sco…” “No,” he interrupted. “Your first…” “Patricia…” *Can’t be…* He was sitting on his bed, Pat beside him. “Here. I want you to have this…” she said, reaching behind her and pulling out a little square box. “What is this?” he asked, taking the box. “Just open it,” she said, smiling. He just smiled and pulled the lid off the box. Inside was a little yellow ball. An orange star was on one side of the ball…if you could call it a side. “Thanks!” he said, after examining it for a second. “I feel like I have to give you something…” “Oh! That’s alright. I’m fine…” she was saying as he rummaged through his desk. He pulled out a scarf. “And this is for you…” he said, giving her the scarf very dramatically, presenting her the fabric on one knee. “Thank you!” she laughed, taking the scarf. On one corner her initials where stitched in…P.S… “Does this look familiar to you?” he said, pulling out the yellow ball. “Um…it looks familiar…but I couldn’t say for sure…it’s like it’s something from a dream…I can’t remember…” They discussed many things the ride back to Nerima, but he avoided bringing up ‘Pat’ or Umbrella. During the talking, he convinced her into going with him out of Nerima. Out of Japan. “Out of Japan? Um…” *Maybe I can finally get away from Weber! He’s probably really pissed with me right now…* “Yes, I’ll go with you out of Japan.” Back at Nerima, he stopped the car about two blocks from Ukyou’s. He told Patricia to stay in the car while he grabbed a few things. He ran silently toward the restaurant. He could hear Ukyou inside, cooking. People eating. Talking. *Great. Stupid emotions.* A girl that looks exactly like Pat. A girl who looks almost exactly like Pat. And he had feelings for both. He jumped up onto the roof and snuck into his ‘room’. After grabbing all his things, he walked in the stairs and peered down at Ukyou for one last time. She was smiling, and serving okonomiyaki. “What took so long?” she asked as he opened the door to the car. “Just…I’ll tell you some other time…” he said, driving out of Nerima.
