Elgyn was the commander on board the 'Betty'. He and Hillard were lovers. He was calculating and a natural leader. He also knew how to make money, but didn't lose his head when he got money in his hands. He has commitments to his crew.He was also curious about the unknown, which eventually leads to his death. He wanders off on his own, down a corridor. The others looked for him, calling for him, but he didn't respond because he suddenly saw a gun, lying on the floor. He picked it up and lighted up the rest of the corridor with the flashlight on the gun. There he saw a handgun laying on the floor. He walks over and picks it up. It was all slimy. Suddenly an alien pulled down the grid Elgyn stood on. The alien killed him by shooting it's tounge through his spine.
