I feel that we need a really excellent Alien 5 to make up for the dissappointments of #3 and #4. Some sites are quoting that Jos Whedon has already finished a story for Alien 5 and have given a few rumours of what its about I have taken some of these ideas and added some of my own to give the following potential story:

Title: Alien:Revelation

This gets the aliens onto Earth. They escape the base (obviously) and set up home in a city which is already in serious trouble after teh Auriga crash. From there I think the story should concentrate more on what the aliens do after their nest reaches a 'critical mass'. In aliens, the max.amount of drones was restricted by the population of the LV426 colony - only a couple of hundred people. On Earth, in a major city, the nest could reach a population of thousands with several Queens. An extension of the lifecycle of the aliens could involve an element of the 'newborn' scenario. What if Gediman got it all wrong and the 'newborn' in Alien Rez did not develop purely as a result of contamination with Ripley's DNA but was a part of the alien lifecycle which was activated at the wrong time and got messed up by the human DNA. My vision of the complete lifecycle is that the Queens and drones are only and initial stage. Once a nest is established and the drone population is large enough to secure the area around the nest, a Queen (or Queens) may go through a further development and to lay a new type of egg containing a diffrent type of embyro implantation organism. These more advanced organisms could use the reproductive system of the females of the host species to incubate an alien embryo. The big difference would be that these embryos would incorporate almost all of the genetic characeristics of the host whereas, in the case of the drones, only specific characteristics are used (such as those required to ensure adaption to the host's environment or any useful physiological features). These new 'master' aliens would closely resemble the host species but would retain specific 'alien' features such as the elongated head and highly resilient physiology. They would also be highly intellingent and have telepatic powers. They could absorb knowledge easily from the indigenous lifeforms and would then use the knowledge to formulate attack strategies, using the Queens and drones as an army to conquer and expand their colony.

This species would be the pinnacle of biological evolution. A species which has developed a method for propagation requiring only a single host incubator to give it the opportunity to conquer entire worlds. By first emerging as an almost perfect killing machine, driven to multiply in its thousands, it overwhelms the indigenous life, creating a 'beach head'. The 'drones' are programmed to specifically target the most advanced lifeform in any ecosystem they are exposed to (although any suitable host lifeform can be used as a drone incubator). This ensures that when the 'master race' emerge they are totally adapted to the host environment and can easily overcome any resistance.

For the film itself, how about some background such as:

Visual style
The film should have an apocalyptic feel. Darkened skies, high winds, perhaps reminiscent of LV 426? Should portray humanity on the brink of complete disaster. The main action should take place in a city where the technology has broken down - fear and panic reign.

Characters and plot
Ripley, Call, Johner and Vreiss from Rez. I have seen an interesting idea on another web site (supposedly taken from an alleged storyline from Jos Whedon) that the Bishop android had been re-built as teh first of the secon generation synthetics and it was he who started the secon gen. rebellion referred to by Call in Rez. I think this presents possibilities for a good storyline. One potetntial storyline is that Ripley and Co. are sentenced to execution for causeing the Auriga crash and for importing a dangerous lifeform on the Betty. Just as sentence is about to be carried out, the new Bishop, aided by a group of renegade synthetics stage a jail break and rescue Ripley and Co. Bishop could take on the role of Ripley's conscience (a sort of high tech Jimminy Cricket!) since her allegiances seem to be split between the human and alien species. One specific plot element that I have in mind is that Ripley would be present in the alien nest (after an attack of which she is part goes disastrously wrong) to witness the birthing of the 'master' aliens. She becomes entrance by them - finding that the alien DNA in her system has given her the power to commune telepathically with them. She then cannot decide whether to submit to the invaders, freeingly giving her knowledge to assist in the enslaving of the human race or to fight against them, using ther knowledge of the aliens. The Bishop synthetic could be instrumental in persuading her to fight for her humanity. She would decide to do so and would return to the nest with a thermonuclear devide to wipe them out.

I can't decide whether she should be rescued from this scenario or to leave her to sacrifice herself to stop the aliens. I'm open to suggestions on this.

Special Effects.
Masses of scope for new visuals. A well established nest with thousands of drones and sevral Queens, with one large matriarchal Queen which is responsible for laying the 'master' alien eggs. A scene where dozens of drones are 'born' at the same time. A nursery in the nest where the drones can be seen maturing. A new type of 'face-hugger' - one which implants embryos into human female reproductive systems (use your imagination!). A scene where the first 'master' alien is born drone-style from the distended stomach of its female host (to avoid total censorship the 'birth' would probably have to be obscured beneath a cocoon). A human attach on the nest where they are set upon a swarm of face-huggers. An alien attack on the humans involving hundreds of drones being directed by Queens (too much like Starship Troopers?). The ultimate sjould be the new ' master' race. I have seen some of H. R. giger's work where he has beautiful depictions of alien/humanoid hybrids. he one which i remember most clearly is an almost female form with a graceful face and the elongated head typical of the alien. The new design must appear beautiful (with no tubes and stuff like the drones) and totally without compassion. However, Giger would have to be sure not to reproduce Sil (from Species).

I would welcome any comments on my ideas or any suggestions that anyone else has.[you can mail the 'site master' to get the mail address if you want to write to him personally - CKepler]
