Before turning to acting, Jenette Goldstein was a comptetitive gymnasist and iron pumper. She studied acting in London and New York. She was married to an englishman and lived in Britain. She did the whole struggeling actor thing over there... until she answered an ad for "genuine american actors" for a movie named Aliens.
As most of you will recall - there's a scene in Aliens where the Marines are briefed by Gorman and Ripley where Hicks mocks Vasques by saying: 'She thought you were talking about Illegal aliens and signed up' (or something close to that). This has it's source in the real world. Goldstein heard about a movie named 'aliens' and she thought it would be about illegal aliens trying to survive in America... She had, of course seen Alien, but didn't think it was the follow up. When she got to the place where the audition was taking place, she got her first clue when all the others were wearing army outfit. Goldstein was wearing pretty clothes and high-heels...
The make-up for Aliens took one hour. The make-up artist complained that Goldsteins freckles were the most ornery freckles she had ever seen.
