1950 - 55: Royal Shakespeare Company. Debut on stage as Spear Carrier in Othello. He got married to his first wife, Lynn Mary Shaw who gave him two daughters, Jessica and Sarah-Jane
1956: TV debut
1965: Divorced Lynn Mary Shaw and gets married to Bee - a photographer who gave birth to Holm's first son Barnaby and a daughter, Melissa.
1968: Film debut in 'The Bofer's Gun'
1976: His marrage to Bee ended.
1981: Gets married to third wife - Sophie Baker - second son Harry
1982: Academy Award Nomination for "Chariots on Fire"
1991: 4th wife, Penelope Wilton.
1998: Is now called SIR Ian Holm....
