Fellow Aliens fans,
I've read lots of ideas and withful thinking for what Alien 5 should be like, but I think that just a battle on Earth between the two would be too small in scope. I'd like to see something on a grand scale, involving multiple planets and species -- the plot of fighting it out on some lonely outpost is getting too old. So instead of just withing for the kind of movie i'd like to see, i decided to write the story myself!
I call it Alien: Origins, because it ultimately explains how the xenomorphs came to be. It includes, of ourse, an alien brought to earth, and how Ripley and the rest of the Betty crew are asked to help fight it. But at the same time, out in the Outer Rim, United Systems colonists and merchants are beginning to be attacked by very intelligent xenos. Fleet military ships are sent to protect them, and several battles ensue, on planets and in space. This may sound very, well, alien to the dia-hard fans most of whom believe the Aliens cannot be intelligent enough to fly their own starships. But remember, this is long after Ripley's encounters with them (a century), and as I explain, they evolve at a fantastic rate.
New characters are introduced, including Captain Cyrus McDaniel, a Fleet officer who happens to get lots of experience fighting the xenos, and is choosen to lead (among with Ripley) the dangerous mission to the alien homeworld. There's also an alliance with another race which will be familiar to sci-fi moviegoers.
Anyway, all is explained in my story, which is mostly done (about a hundred pages so far). Now I just have to find out where to submit it, for possible use. If anyone has any ideas, questions or comments, I'd welcome them at dbernazani@erols.com. Thanks!

P.S. Alan McKenzie had some interesting ideas -- some of which I too had already incorporated in my storyline. Good work, Alan!
