Trivia and Goofs

Audio/Visual unsynch scenes:

In the breakfast scene, there is an conversation noise loop.
When Ripley meets the Queen, the breathing noise and the steam from her mouth is out of synch.

Visible Crew and a screw-up:

When Frost falls down the shaft, a foot is visible.
When Bishop stops Newt from being sucked into the airlock, his body is visible.

And the difficult continuity...:

The Marines are standing inside the APC, but is taller than it when outside...
Ripley's headset when the APC looses contact with the Marines...
APC window becomes unshattered...
When Ripley tries to break the lab window, there's a mark in the glass before her first swing. Then it's gone and we see Ripley make the mark with her second swing...
When Ripley gathers weapons when she is rescuing Newt, we see her first getting one from the rack, then she puts a different gun to the floor, then she picks up gun nr. 2 from the rack and puts first on the floor.... This is fixed in Special Edition...
The yellow caution light on loader when Queen pulls it into airlock...
Aliens Special Edition goof/continuity glitch: When the marines are in the dropship, going down to Archeron, you can see a scene that was cut from the original airing. - In the Special Edition we get to know that Hicks falls asleep almost immediatley after the descent begins. When Hudson starts boasting, you can see a shot of Hicks, sound asleep. Seconds later, there is a close-up of Hudson - with Hicks awake in the background. - Well, people can wake up in a matter of seconds, but - the next shot is of Hicks, sound asleep again.

Recycling
One of the sets was saved and used in "Batman"

Stinger
In the draft script, Gorman is paralyzed by an alien's stinger, not falling equipment.

Michael Biehn's characters in Cameron movies...
...is always bitten. In "Aliens", Hicks is bitten in the hand. He is also bitten in Cameron's "The Abyss" and "The Terminator". Hicks was, by the way, originally going to be actor James Remar's act, but due to "artistic differences" between Remar and Cameron, Remar was ditched!

The Terminator link... part 2
Bishop clames he was made by CYBERDYNE. The Terminator was made by Cyberdyne...

Numbers of the beast
The hugger was operated by 9 people. One for each leg and one for the tail... The number of alien suits was 6. Careful planning and editing has made it look like 100's.

Music
was cannabalized from Star Trek II and Star Trek III. James Horner had made the music to both movies.

Starship Troopers
As a preparation for their bad-ass characters, the actors spend some time with S.A.S. - Special Air Service, Britain's elite anti-terrorist force and reading Heinlein's "Starship Troopers".

Location
The Atmosphere Processing Station was actually the Acton Lane power station in London, England, UK...
