The kind of cool reduced scene
The kind of cool reduced scene is the one which looks like the alien queen carries Ripley into her hive. The scene is dark, rythmic and serene. But, behold - this was not what it seems like! In fact, this scene is NOT the alien queen carrying Ripley to her nest, but Ripley and the alien queen having some kind of alien, weird sex - yes, you read me right! The idea was that Ripley's presence near the queen triggered the development of the newborn - making Ripley not only it's grandmother, but also it's 'father'! To make it all straight: 1)Ripley has sex with an alien! 2)The alien is her daughter! 3)Ripley (a female) is the catalysator (father) of an alien/human bastard!
And of course - this, of all scenes was cut down to - the queen carrying Ripley to her nest!
The Near Death Experience
While filming the underwater chase scene, Ron Perlman (Johner) banged his head into one of the pipes and passed out. Luckily, the crew on the surface managed to drag him out of the water before something tragic happened.
Missing: Alien Queen
During the post-production they couldnīt find the original Queen and the moulds used for the original was damaged beyond repair. However, they found the original life-sized puppet in the collection of an alien fan and borrowed it for this movie.
Boasting
Winona Ryder accepted the role as Call even before she read the script. She said it didnīt matter if she got killed in the first scene, she just wanted to brag to her younger brothers that she have been in an "alien" movie.
Vanishing Mosquito
The director originally wanted a shot of a mosquito stinging Ripley and then vanishing because of her acid blood. He abandoned the idea after hearing how much it would cost...
She actually does it!
Sigourney Weaver actually did score when she throws the basketball in the net. It appears that she got a wee bit of off-screen help, but she did it all by herself. Of course she had been in training for some time. Co-actor Ron Perlman was so impressed that he started cursing and the shot had to be taken once more. Weaver managed it twice.
