Subject: DRTUYS (Don't Read This Until You See) The X-File Where the boy bleeds and/or the cockroach one!

Here I go again! Aren't you special! You get an E-mail on TWO different eps, and in the middle of the week, too! But I just saw two really good eps. If you know me IRL you can borrow them...

First ep: The one where the boy bled from his hands. That one was really powerful, dealing with a great subject that doesn't come up too often: religion. This sort of reflects Scully's return to religion in Redux II. I can't wait to see where the series goes with that. Yes, this was definately a Scully ep. I loved it. She took Mulder's place in this one, and Mulder took hers, but Mulder had no idea what to do in her place. Not only did he offer his rational explenations, but he denounced her instinct, something Scully long ago learned not to do and he should DEFINATELY know not to do, being the open-minded one and all. Yes, Mulder was a jerk in this one. But we do forgive him in the end, when he is all sympathetic and lets her go to wherever, the confession. I really liked the scene where Scully is attempting to do the autopsy but keeps faltering. "Mulder, could you do me a favor. Could you smell him?" Yet he did not detect the smell of flowers. The miracle was not meant for him to see. I like the priest, and the re-occuring line worked too. That, again, reflects Redux II. Scully has made full circle, and she has come back. I did not like some of the lines. Mr Whoever's words, "I just want to go to heaven" as he jumps out the window seem so wrong. I'm a pretty religious person, I guess, and as I understand it, that was not his motivation. I could be wrong, but that's my interpretation. I also didn't understand the end, where Scully says she's afraid no one's listning. I like the thought, and it fits the episode, but it didn't strike me as her concern. Shouldn't she be afraid of whether she is listning or not? Is that what she meant? Does it all relate? All in all, a great episode: X-Files at its best.

The cockroach ep: The War on the Coprahagues. This ep was GREAT!!!! Every element: From Mulder's handing his badge as ID to all his great one-liners, to the idea in general, to Scully's attempted rational explenations that all work, to their switch of roles, it all makes sense. The idea, the mechanical bugs, was spiffen. And Dr. Bambi certainly spiced up the plot. What got me was the scene where *g* Mulder was shaking his imagined cockroaches out of his ears and nose... I SO don't agree... Praying mantises RULE!!!!!! And THIS WAS THE GIRLY-SCREAM EP!!! I've been waiting for the longest time. I loved the snippets of Scully's relaxed life- the dog, which had a great appearance ("By the way, would you like a dog?" In the next scene, guess what furry something she is watching TV with.), though, as you all must know, he dissappears later on. SPOILER: he gets eaten. END OF SPOILER! My dad doesn't like cockroaches and is repulsed by them too, but not because of a praying-mantis epiphany, but because of the time he found half a cockroach in a jam jar. And all around the table were disgusted too, because everyone who was eating jam couldn't help notice that the half-cockroach was still moving... of course, their nervous systems rule, and they run around without their heads until they starve. Yeah.. So ends this mail of E. Have a nice day!
