Remember when the X-Files gave us phrases such as these that could send shivers up our spines? Not that the X-Files has gotten worse, but it has changed to the point where lines appear too rarely- their signifigance was unnecessary. But now, everything, everyone, is back, in one place, trying to hold off one apocolyptical viral attack. Krycheck is back AND looking like himself again, Mulder's there, Scully's there. The CSM is there, and so is Spender, failing miserably. And the woman whose name is I think Diana is back as well- WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT? I thought that she had become, in a sense, Spender's sidekick. But Spender is failing, and now SHE is going to do something! Shivers running up and down my spine! This is really something, isn't it? This is the only episode so involved (and so tremendously publicized...) that they needed to cram the most important events of over five seasons into thirty seconds of memory refreshment.
I do not even know where to begin. The episode seemed to say everything. Let's just review them in our minds until something for discussion turns up.
Hmm, Cassandra, who I have always liked, even if she once sounded like some new age "The little green men just want peace and harmony and love" kind of hippie or something. But she was cool- She has a bond with Scully that is just great to see. How often does Scully run up and hug someone when she sees them? I'm glad to see her happy.
Spender failed miserably. Ah yes, the confident and really good Krycheck, who looks up to CM, the "great man". We really got a look into him today. "So that you'll be a great man too." Is that what he wants? He certainly does not "pale to Mulder" like Spender does. Oh, when CM said that to Spender, it was so fullfilling. YES! NO ONE can hold a candle to Mulder!
You know, some songs from the musical Chess would really fit the X-Files. (I happen to be listening to it right now)
Does anyone besides me side with the rebels to some small extent? They are fighting a force that would take over the universe! (Yes, this sounds like bad sci-fi. Only the X-Files can make this work this well!)
What do we have ahead of us now? Will Cassandra die? How could Mulder pull the trigger?! I understand why, but... can't she have done it herself? Lept from a building or something? And will the poison gas from the green fluid not hurt Mulder and Scully? Does Cassandra have that kind of reaction, or is that JUST the rebels? I am confused.
Samantha has hardly been mentioned. She was abducted at the same time as Cassandra, but will any of this reaveal anything about her? I, personally, do not expect her to be making an appearance, but you really don't know.
Lastly- Is Mulder's bedroom still clean? ;~)
And where can they go after this? What will the X-Files do if they don't ad a bunch of questions at the end of next episode? I can't wait!!!!!
