My first forays into the Internet were on IRC. I have kept many of the wavs and remotes that I used then, basically because if still find them humorous. The following wavs were commonly used in mIRC (version 5.41 at the time) #fmu by members. Many have chosen to use them in conjunction with REMOTES to heighten their IRC chat experience while in the room. Feel free to download these wavs and copy the remote scripts. What are Remotes? Well, they are a system of commands in mIRC which you can set to make the program react in a certain way automatically. In this case, we are making the program play the sound on our computer whenever the target word is said in the room. Still interested in adding this Remote script to your program, here's what you do:
  • Open mIRC... go to TOOLS... go to REMOTE... go to LISTEN
  • Make sure that CTCPs, EVENTS, and RAW are all checked
  • In the large field in the center of the message box, insert the code from the remote script below
  • Remember to change the end of that code to tell the computer where your sound files are

NOTE: With this Remote script... your sound must be on (/Sound On) and the wav file must be in the file that you listed on the Remote. This Remote will not react if YOU say the word yourself. It will only react when someone else says it.
