2X01 Little Green Men

Agitated about the closure of the X-Files and the mundaneness of standard investigation, Mulder is contacted by Senator Matheson with a tip concerning evidence of "contact" made by a radio telescope located in Arecibo, Puerto Rico. Mulder must race to the site to acquire the evidence before a UFO retrieval team can sanitize the site.

Assistant Director Walter Skinner assigns Agent Mulder to investigate a murder occurring in the sewer of Newark, New Jersey. With the aide of a new mysterious contact, Agents Mulder and Scully soon discover that the murder was committed by something less than human. Can Mulder and Scully solve the mystery and reopen the X-Files?

The mysterious Mr. X appears with clues that point to a secret government program involving sleep eradication experiments.

Fox is assigned to act as a hostage negotiator when Duane Barry, an alleged UFO abductee, holds his psychiatrist hostage. Scully learns that Barry used to be an FBI agent but that a service wound injured his brain and caused him to become a pathological liar. Will Mulder be able to diffuse the volatile situation and rescue the hostages?

Following the abduction of Dana Scully by Duane Barry, Mulder feverishly works to locate the criminal. Tracing Barry to Skyland Mountain Resort, Mulder arrives too late to rescue Scully.
