Okay, this was a fairly average episode, on the boring side. Too little Scully, although some of the phone exchanges were amusing, such as the "when you find my corpse" thing. However, the whole "Martha-Stewart-suburban-stay-at-home-perfect-wife-and-mother" set up was just a tad bit irritating. You don't live in a perfect world, why pretend you do?
Seeing Mulder get coddled was annoying. And the whole thing with the raven/monster/lady was...not working. How can she be chased by herself? I see the metaphor, but she sees both her image and the image of the monster in the mirror. Doesn't work.
And what is the sherrif's problem? Not only does he cheat once, he cheats on his wife twice. I don't care what wiseass, pathetic excuses the guy's got. "She trapped me" is NOT an excuse. You don't want to get married? Don't get the girl pregnant! How pathetic.
Anyway, too little Scully, but there was just enough amusing stuff to keep it out of the basement.
