Anatomy of an Armor Girl

Armor Girl designs tend to have many common elements in them, with some variations. The exact form is dependent upon the particular likes and dislikes of the designer. In all cases, if the armor were really being built, it would have force fields to give the wearer strength, radio, life support, and a host of other 'necessities'. The following gives a list of the exact components for a proper suit-out.

Helmet

Helmets serve the purpose of head protection, as well as mounting all the neat visors, antennae and other equipment usually attached to the mecha's head unit. There are variants from a thin hairband with some stuff attached to fully enclosed helmets.

Breast Plate

Provides protection for the chest area of the wearer, many times with support attachments and cooling vents. It also gives support to the pilot underneath. Many come with attached jet packs.

Briefs

Sometimes a leotard or bodysuit attached to the breast plate, sometimes just a set of metal briefs following the design of the breast plate. Usually includes a belt for equipment pods or auxilary control panels.

Gauntlets

Protection for the hands in hand to hand combat, occasionally including weapon mounts.

Boots

Gives the pilot something to walk in aside from bare feet, which is considered dangerous in a combat zone. Typically includes steering thrusters.

Accessories

Most pick and carry equipment, such as rifles and cannon, qualify, as do large shields.

Scooters

Occasionally, a design that comes along won't be quite within the concepts of an Armor Girl. Most mecha that don't quite fit a humanoid shape can usually be parodied in a similar fashion, typically by making them into 'scooters'. Some 'scooters', by design, will accept a fully outfitted Armor Girl. Some scooters are straight vehicles, others have limbs that give them the flexibility of humanoid movements.
