Kalas as one of HL's best villains

I agree - *off with his head*!!!

I think Kalas is definitely in the running for best HL villain. Part of the reason is that we get to hate him so thoroughly - he shows up in, golly, let me see, no notes to go on, four shows? It makes a whole arch, each piece of which is compelling in it's own right, so you're not going "get on with it already, let's kill this guy and get on to something else". He leads us interesting places! Because of him, Duncan has to leave Anne. Duncan has to watch one of his oldest friends (Fitzcairn) die at his hands. Because of him we meet Methos. And he brings it all together in Finale, where we get a wrinkle in Amanda and Duncan's relationship, where Joe and Methos meet, where Duncan and Methos become better friends, and we get a huge giant Paris-wide quickening. Who else has gotten so many of our favorite characters involved (besides O'Rourke)?

And - he doesn't just go after you. He goes after your friends. Sets the cops on Joe. Gets Anne in trouble. Goes after Fitz. Etc. Major baddie. I can't think of anything more calculated to enrage Duncan MacLeod. Of course, that's what Kalas wants (he meant to succeed at all those plots, of course). This is sort of like the strategy that Connor accused Slan of (but we never really saw much of) - destroy everyone you love until you're not sure you want to live. Except that here it's not just a strategy in the game, it's a sort of Count of Monte Cristo revenge type thing. You deprived me of what mattered most to me, so I'm going to deprive you of
everything I can that means anything to you.

Anyway, this is getting long-winded - I just meant to say that I agree with you - Kalas is one
bad dude. DUNCAN, CUT OFF HIS HEAD ALREADY!
