Apelike carnivore with white fur and poisonous fangs on Tyree's Planet. A mugato
attacked James Kirk in 2267, leaving him close to death. Since there was no antitoxin known to counteract this poision, McCoy allowed a local witch doctor, a Kahn-ut-tu woman, of the hill people tribe to successfully treat Kirk. (In the script, the apelike creature was called a gumato, but was later changed to the famous Mugato.)
