Appearance: Shadow looks almost exactly as in the picture at right, with the only difference being her pupils are jet black, deep pools of darkness that seem to go on forever. As a baseline, Shay was originally pretty plain looking. Not pretty, not ugly, just far too average. Her Eruption has enhanced her appearance a great deal. She is now incredibly beautiful, but not superhumanly so, like some novas. Her beauty is a more quiet, unassuming sort, but she still turns heads with ease.
She currently dresses in an all black outfit: sneakers, jeans, and a hooded sweatshirt. She also often wears dark sunglasses. Coupled with her annoyance with bright light and the dark nature of her quantum powers, this leads many to believe light hurts her in some manner. In actuality, it doesn't. Shadow's aversion to bright lights is a simple personality quirk, not an aberration.
Known Powers: She can transform her body (and her clothing and any small objects, up to the size of a briefcase, she has 'attuned' to her quantum signature) into "shadow" material. Scientists have a hell of a time trying to classify this version of the Bodymorph power. When in her "Shadowform", Shay is only semi-solid, highly felxible and maliable, capable of being effectively invisible in darkness, and is completely two-dimensional. If viewed from the side, she is simply not there.
Her other known powers include: the ability to teleport herself through shadows in a manner that also baffles scientists. She can step into any shadow and re-emrge from any other shadow within a two-kilometer radius. She has also displayed superhuman agility, perception and endurance, and the ability to see in total darkness.
Personality: Generally shy, quiet and distrustful of those she doesn't know, Shadow does open up once she starts to feel comfortable with someone. She has an excellent sense of humor that can be quite astute at times.
Politically, Shadow is independant, not yet having taken an official "side" in the growing nova conflicts. She is still learning about this new world, and is slow to make any solid decisions. That said, she has recently been leaning towards the Teragen way of thinking, due to numerous factors. If this continues, she may soon end up declaring herself a Terat.
Topics like sex tend to throw her for a loop. Not only is she highly inexperienced, but several bad experiences (the attempted molestation by her father that triggered her Eruption and her recent rape by another nova) has driven her to avoid getting sexual with anyone. Until she can get her head straight on the subject, she is avoiding any possible romantic entanglements.
