A Ghost Story Sent In By A Young Guest
Believe it or not, this is a true story of me...
On a Saturday afternoon, my family had gone out shopping. I was reading a book on my bed, but I guess I was too tired that day cuz then I fell asleep. I dreamed of something which I don't exactly remember.
I'm a really light sleeper, I know everything that's happening around me while I'm asleep, no matter how tired I am. Anyway, while I was dreaming, suddenly I felt something really cold touching my arm. Probably a hand.
It moved my arm that fell down to my bed. I was totally freaked out. Cuz I mean I could swear that it wasn't in my dream. I then started sweating and pretended to be still asleep. The movements disappeared after a while. I peeked around and saw no one.
So then I quietly got up and walked around the apartment to make sure none of my family members were playing a dirty trick on me. But I couldn't find anyone. I decided to take a walk cuz sometimes I feel even safer walking outside than staying at home. I guess its the people and warmth that's made me wanting to go.
I took my flash light, in case if I don't get home by dark, and also my keys. I quickly shut the door, actually slammed the door cuz I was too freaked out, just wanted to get out of there as fast I could. And I ran as fast I could to anywhere that's just not around my apartment. I rested on the sidewalk for a minute and kept walking.
I saw a few neighbors. and then I decided to get back. When I was in front of my door. I took out my keys, it was then when I realized my hands were still shaking. I laughed at myself "scaredi cat, nothing's wrong, probably just u imagining things." I pushed the key into the door lock, but it somehow got stuck, I tried so many times to twist it around but it was like some one inside was holding the door knob.
I got freaked out again and decided to pull the key out. but just as I started pulling the key, the lock turned, and I felt as if some one inside turned the door knob, of course, my hand twisted too cuz I was holding the key. Then the door automatically opened. I opened my mouth, wanting to scream so bad and ran.
But I froze. I just stood there, expecting a ghost or person to come to get me from inside. I felt cold air coming through me when the door opened. "That's weird, cuz I don't remember turning on the fan nor the air conditioner." I thought. I was shaking violently.
"Move! Move u damned legs! Run!", I told myself. Guess the legs got my message and I used all the energy I had to run. I left my keys on the door. I didn't care. All I knew was that something freaking weird was going on in my apartment. don't know if it was a thief, nor a ghost, but something weird.
That's all I knew and thought about. A car horn woke me from day dreaming on a side walk. Our car, my family's back! Yes! I was so relieved from seeing them. "XXX, why r u outside, I thought u wanted to watch ur show." mom asked and looked at me suspiciously at the same time. "I...uh...something...weird happened, aaaand...I'll tell u all when we get inside."
When we walked to our door, the key was still there. But part of the little plastic rabbit that I made for the key chain was missing. Only its head was left. "XXX!! How can u be so careless to leave the keys on our door!!", my dad was yelling at me. "Uh...Whoops! Sorriee." Hiding my emotions, I quickly took the keys out and opened the door. When everyone and everything was settled down, I started telling them what happened. But from the looks of their faces, I didn't think they were believing me, or even listening to me.
When I finished, my dad looked at me and then laughed, he said "U know what XXX, u r a great writer." I got very offended, and said "did u even listen to ONE word I said? Is that how u guys listen to me?" My grandma said, "Honey, its probably just u imagining things." "Yeah sure, what ever. I'm just an insane person that's so bored that started making weird stories one day to her family.
U know what, I don't even know why I told u all this. It was just a waste of time." I said and went to the kitchen. "Honey, we didn't mean that we DON'T believe u...its just...how about this, I'll help u check every single corner and closet of our apartment." my dad offered. I looked at him, and said reluctantly "fine" so we checked and everything was fine, nothing was missing or replaced.
When we reached to my room, I slowly opened my door and thought "okay, nothing's gonna happen, and ur dad's here with u. So u r safe." I opened my door and was dumbfounded. My stuffed animals were fallen to the floor from the top of my bookshelves. Half of my clothes were messed up too.
"XXX! look at ur room, its disgusting. How can a teenage girl be so messy. When ur aunt was little...just clean ur room right this minute!" My dad demanded me. "But it wasn't me" I argued back. "Sure, it was some ghost that just had to mess ur room for u?" my dad said sarcastically. "Fine, whatever, u wouldn't understand anyways." I said and closed my door. "Ouch!!" I stumped onto something sharp. And felt my foot, "Oh my God" my plastic rabbit's body was smashed into pieces by my foot. I was dumb founded once again.

Thanks to our guest for sending in this experience.
We included this experience in the Ghost Stories collection because it fit what a spiritualist friend once described as a "wandering spirit experience". A mischievous spirit passes through someone's home or life and somehow pulls a prank before moving on with its journey. Our writer doesn't tell of previous or post hauntings so we placed the story here.
