Just for a brief part of a second you have a fleeting glimpse of a shadow from the corner of your eye.  Can't tell what it is but you know you saw it.

   It's not like the little floating things on your eyeballs.  It is very real and quite shapeless and you can never see it when you try.

   Normal human function?  Ghosts?  Other world visitors?   Observers from another dimension?  Elsewhen?

   If you believe in parallel universes it isn't a far leap to believe that we may be receiving glimpses of one or more of the "closer" universes.  One almost a mirror of our own.  As we move further away from our perspective, the alternative universe would be harder to perceive.

  The difference would be a decision made a short time ago so that reality would be very close to the one we see now.  Do we move between them?  I don't know but how many times have you looked for something at home or work that you saw last week or month and suddenly can't find it.  Your wife or co-workers think you are a little nuts because they tell you that you never had that item.  You know better because the memory is very clear.

  Did you move into a different universe?  Did reality change for you?   Is that shadowy figure you see out of the corner of your eye another you looking for the wrench you never bought but he did?
