Questions About Cydonia

     I love Mars and the mysteries it presents!  I can't wait until NASA gets a larger lander down safely and explore larger areas.  Now if we could just get NASA to direct it to the Cydonia plain I would get really excited.

     Whatever happened to Mars in ancient times was apparently so catastrophic that not much evidence is left of any life that may have existed.  It must have been an awesome display.

     In recent years the enthusiasts such as myself have focused on the Cydonia area of Mars because of the face that showed up in the Viking photograph of 1976.  Once the photo was made public, NASA showed no real interest in it and the few times the photo showed up in the news, all that was shown was the face.  

     One person who took up the banner to spread the message of Mars was Richard C. Hoagland.  He wrote a book and produced a video titled, "The Monuments of Mars", and showed us how the "regular" media and NASA both kept the focus on the face and not the surrounding area.  That made it easier to discredit those of us who have seen it all.

     When you see the entire area, you see the pyramids. If you haven't seen the pyramids and the face together, you are missing the picture.  No one in the media  will show the whole picture for some reason, be it ignorance or otherwise.  The face sits on the plain and there are pyramids on all sides and even a little city of pyramids off to one side.  One of the best shots is of a little pyramid that sits on the edge of a crater as if it was put there as some kind of observation tower.

      Hoagland does a good job in both the book and his video presenting the math involved with the area he calls, "The City On The Edge Of Forever".  However, I'm not writing this to promote his book as there are others out there but his was the one I found and read and liked.  

     I do want to promote the knowledge of the Cydonia plain and of all the pyramids and ask that if you ever get the chance to speak about it, remind people that there is more to the face than what they have seen.

     You undoubtedly have heard by now that the latest photographs show just some strangely shaped mound of dirt in the middle of the plain where the face should be.  That doesn't mean that the face isn't there, it means that it was meant to be seen under the right circumstances.  Why the news people showed the picture again without showing the pyramids is a mystery.  I believe that they just show what NASA gives them and reads the press release as news.  It's a shame.

     As for me, I would love to be the first to walk into pyramid city and explore.  What a trip it would be to find a Help Wanted sign on the local Mickey Ds.
