The Spiritual World

Eternal Light

Yes, there is a spiritual world!   No, there isn't a spiritual world!   This is one debate that goes on and appears to be gaining strength as more information is shared with the world on the Internet.  Hooray for the Internet.   People with varied ideas and from different cultures are expressing their views and sharing their experiences as never before.

People who would have you believe that there is no spiritual world and nothing exists beyond our body have not had the unique experience of becoming wrapped in the warmth of the great cosmic consciousness.

You are probably reading this because you share some of our beliefs.  That's why you are visiting our site and we thank you for stopping by.

This subject is easier to describe how to do it and what you may see when you get there than it is to conceptualize the mechanics of what enables us to do it in the first place.  As I share thoughts with our enlightened visitors, my thoughts often turn to this subject as the unseen world is the key to most psychic and/or spiritual events.

The May 7, 2001 issue of Newsweek magazine had a cover story, "God & the Brain", about this subject.   The story, written by Sharon Begley, was the cover story for that week.  We wrote to Newsweek asking for permissions to reprint or link the article but haven't heard from them as of yet so we will just review it as we see it.

Mystic visions or brain circuits at work?
     Religion and the Brain
In the new field of "neurotheology," scientists seek the biological basis of spirituality.  Is God all in our heads?

In a nutshell, these scientists have found (using brain-imaging) that in deep meditation there is a part of the brain that seems to become isolated from the rest of the thought process.  They found that the brain waves undergo changes at some point.  No one can say why we find the spiritual deity during a journey of this sort but the fact is that it is there.

The best quote from the article was by Dr. Andrew Newberg of the University of Pennsylvania, who along with the late Eugene d'Aquili used brain-imaging data they collected from Tibetan Buddhists to identify what appears to be the brain's spirituality circuit

Dr. Newberg states:   "The fact that spiritual experiences can be associated with distinct neural activity does not necessarily mean that such experiences are mere neurological illusions.   It's no safer to say that spiritual urges and sensations are caused by brain activity than it is to say that the neurological changes through which we experience the pleasure of eating an apple cause the apple to exist." Good quote, good article.

What we see during a spiritual journey is most certainly linked to some part of the brain as activity.   When we activate a TV or a cell phone, or some other means of communication, internal circuits are activated.  You don't see a picture or hear a voice until the circuits are synced or a channel is found.

Someone external to the process might think that it's a trick and all the voices are coming from something in the device rather than from some distant place.   Try to describe the operation of a cell phone to someone from 1800.  They would swear it was magic.

We believe that we do connect with external dimensions during times of meditation or during a spiritual journey.   We believe that we are connected to others in the world through some means and that is the basis of ESP experiences.   We believe that we can reach across time using this same ability and see past and future events as they happen.

We believe that someday, we will be able to use science to prove that the spiritual part of life is real.
