Walking Through Time
Time is the measurement by which we run our lives from our conception forward to the time we return to the earth. We count seconds, hours, days, and so on for everything starting with the big bang.
We look at a clock and think we understand what time is but we really don't often think about the fact that what we perceive of as time is just a measurement based on the earth's rotation and the earth's orbit around the sun.
As we progress through this great explosion of knowledge that mankind is having at the moment ("moment" being a really vague measurement of time that we use when we can't be more precise), we are learning more universal ways to measure time such as particle decay and the like. However, even then we have to define the measurement with man made definitions.
We think of time as a linear progression of events of which we can only see behind us, never ahead. We are being pushed forward in the pool of time while leaving our past behind and seeing the future as a blank because it hasn't happened yet.
Or is it happening another way? Thinking that the future doesn't exist until we get there is sort of like thinking that the ground we walk on doesn't come into being until we put our foot on it. It would mean that the all of the stars in the sky blink into existence as we come into "the future". It is also likely that old Mother Nature just didn't give us forward looking sensors.
Time surely exist as a dimensional plane of some sort and we are heading down one of the paths while seemingly walking backwards to avoid looking at what's coming up. Nature seems to have given us the ability to only see the history behind us while all points of time are all around us and we only need to train ourselves to look in the different direction. There are a few people who have that ability and yet they aren't always right as no matter how we look at the future, it is cloudy.
A cloudy future shows itself to us because there are multiple directions for our future much as there are different paths around the world and people are always on a different path from their neighbors. We see one path and our neighbor doesn't cooperate so his future will be different. The time pool has multiple dimensions and directions. As we walk a particular path we are creating or, maybe more accurately, moving into different futures.
Put a vision in your mind's eye of an infinite grid going on around us, above us, and below us with each grid point representing a particular place in the time plane. It has to be multi-dimensional. Now if you put yourself in one of the squares, you have your place in time. From a seat on high, you can see all of eternity but on the playing field, you can see just your spot with an occasional glimpse of what's coming up.
It is difficult to see the grids of the future part of the path or as they say, "over the next horizon", only the grids where we have been and we travel on our path(s) until it comes to an end. You could be put into any grid which represents any time and moving in parallel with other events from the past or the future and never know it.
All things are happening all at once and forever on the grid and multiple futures exist for all the actions of today which are the result of actions taken in the past.
That's too deep for me. What do you think? We'd love to hear from you.
