Moose and Squirrel's X-Files Website Reviews

Moose: Well, this week's first choice might just be one of "those" sites. I think it's funny as hell, but it might be one of those things that male X-Fans might like more than the female fans. I dunno, but it's getting one hoof up from me. It's called Cancer Fan's X-Phile Top Ten Humor Page (http://geocities.datacellar.net/Area51/labyrinth/4694/cancerfantop10.html).

Squirrel: I think a good hint about the content of this site is this line from the front page: "The truth may be out there, but this ain't it." Very funny!

M: If you like David Letterman's Top Ten List bit, this is going to be a lot of fun for you all. This is a site that relies on some decent writing to carry it along, and I think it's a good effort.

The humor is hit and miss, as all such lists are. But they are mostly hits. I really liked "Alex Krycek's Top Ten Pick Up Lines", "Top Ten Things Mulder And Scully Salvaged From The Office Fire", and "Top Ten Scenes Restored On The X-Files: Fight The Future Home Video".

S: My favorites were "Top Ten Things Agent Scully Does Every Day That We (the viewers) Never See, " and "Scully's Top Ten Complaints About Mulder". But to see something really silly, click on "The Generic X-Phile Top Ten List"!

M: We have the ever present black background and green lettering issue, and that might be a problem for some of you. Other than that, it's a simple and good looking site. It doesn't seem to be updated on a regular basis, but the humor is timeless. Good fun!

S: And the webmaster is taking submissions, so you have a chance to see your own silly top ten list in print!

M: Really want to be creeped out for the night? Go to The X-Files Rouge's Gallery web site at (http://geocities.datacellar.net/Area51/Rampart/7953). This one has information on tons o' villians, bad guys, misguided souls and many subjects of the X-Files. This is a lot of work, with nice graphics, good photos and intelligent writing.

S: This is some serious scary stuff! I browsed through the "Mutants" section - talk about some major creeps!

M: Big Time Spoiler Alert! Lot's of the blurbs involve the final fate of the subjects of this site, so if you haven't seen a certain episode, avoid this one.

S: But if you can't remember how that creepy villian, mutant, or alien met his (usuallly messy) end, it's a great reference site.

M: It's updated on a fairly regular basis, and the links are all rather quick. If I have any complaint, its that some of the formatting of the photos and text is a little clumsy. Nothing I couldn't live with, but considering how nice most of the site looks, it's a little jarring when that happens.

S: Well, that wraps us up for this week. As always, you can email us at moosnsqril@aol.com with comments on our reviews or site recommendations. Until next week, trust no one!
