Many Elvis fans believe Elvis is still alive. For those who do, some think he left behind clues and messages in the performances of his later years. Let's take a look at some of those performances in the CBS Special, recorded in late 1977;

Are You Lonesome Tonight? *** Many fans of Elvis say this version of Are You Lonesome Tonight? is there favorite. Elvis screws up the chorus really bad and plain cuts up with the audience and the fans. Truly the Elvis we all know and love.

You Gave Me A Mountain "...Lord, I've been in a prison For something I never done. I've faced one hill after another. I've climbed them all one by one." But this time, you gave me a mountain. A mountain you know I'll never climb. It just isn't a hill any longer. You gave me a mountain this time." "She took my one reason for living. She took my pride and my joy. She took my one ray of sunshine. She took my small, baby, boy [or Lisa-Marie]"

How Great Thou Art ***One of Elvis and his mother, Gladys's favorite gospel songs, Elvis sings this song with such heart-felt spirituality and power, it is just a great song.

Elvis Introduces His Father On introducing his father, Vernon, Elvis says: "He [his father] hasn't been able to tour with us for a coupla years...he's been real sick, ya know." The CBS Special was Elvis' last performance on stage. Is it possible Vernon came on tour for the first time in "a coupla years" because he knew it would be Elvis' last performance?

My Way ***This song simply tells his fans that Elvis did it "his way". This is a very powerful and emotional song for Elvis as he belts out the ole' Sinatra hit. At the end of the song, Elvis says: '' 'Till we meet again, God Bless. Adios.", like it will be a long time before he sees his fans again. Then he sings ''Can't Help Falling in Love'' his hit from the movie Blue Hawaii, as always.

There were additional songs recorded for the CBS Special, including Fairy Tale, a song he used to describe his life, an Italion version of It's Now or Never, songs recorded by Olivia-Newton John and old and new songs in between.
