Subtitle: Terror by Night

 

PAGE 1

 

Panel 1:

 

Caption: In a small town of Galia, located somewhere in Eastern Europe.

 

Scene: It’s night, and we can see a young couple walking down what can only be termed main street. In the

distance, we can see a movie theater, and according to the marquee the movie ‘Dracula’ is playing. The couple

appear to be in their late teens. Most of the light is coming from a streetlight, and the marquee.

 

PAGE 2

 

Panel 1:

 

Man: Dracula...humf. Vampires really, who would believe in such things now a days.

 

Woman: True, but keep in mind that this is Transilvania.

 

Scene: [Long Panel] We see the couple from the waist up. On a nearby rooftop we see the shadowy figure of a

woman, whom we can barely make out.

 

Panel 2:

 

Man: I’ll give you that.

 

Scene: As they walk hand in hand, not even looking at one another, we see the woman smile, showing off her

vampiric teeth shining from the light from a nearby streetlight.

 

Panel 3:

 

Woman: Oh Dan.

 

Man: Yes.

 

scene: We see the startled look on the man as he turns to see the woman, who appears to have become fully

vampiric, even as her eyes glow and her fangs glisten in the light,

Panel 1:

 

: AAAAARRRGGGHH!!!

 

scene: [Full page] Heavily shadowed to the point that we have trouble making out the carnage that is taking

place. [Panel 2 is inside Panel 1]

 

Panel 2:

 

Shadowy Figure: Finally!!!

 

scene: We get a close up of a beautiful woman with long blonde hair flowing down to the small of her back. She is

wearing black leather, with stiletto heeled boots. Her fangs are showing as she leaps from the rooftop.

Panel 1:

 

Shadowy fig.: You have done well, my daughter.

 

Scene: We see the beautiful woman approach the woman, who has just drained her boyfriend of blood.

 

The Girlfriend’s fangs are dark with blood, her lips and face, along with her clothes are covered in blood.

 

Panel 2:

 

Priest: Desist you fowl beasts.

 

Scene: A priest (NOT Devon) approaches the Vampires, with a cross held out in front of him. The priest has a

defiant look on his face.

 

Panel 3:

 

Shadowy fig. - Lead Vamp.: You are a fool, mortal. You’re faith is lacking.

 

Scene: The Lead Vampire’s eyes glow as her fangs glisten, as she grins evilly.

 

Panel 4:

 

Priest: AAARRGGH!

 

Scene: With a gesture of her hand ( Lead Vampires ) the cross in the hand of the priest melts even as he holds it.

We see pain on the priest’s face.

 

Panel 5:

 

Lead Vamp.: You shall join us soon, priest.

 

Scene: We see the priest on his knees, as he holds his hand which is covered in molten metal. Fear is in his eyes.

Panel 1:

 

Caption: Elsewhere; The next day at Murphy’s Gym, located in the a run down section of London, England.

 

Devon: Jab... Jab...upper cut. Now who wants to give it a shot?

 

Scene: We see Devon working out/ teaching boxing to a bunch of youngsters ( 8- 15 year olds). Devon is wearing

boxing gloves, shorts, and boxing shoes as he works out on a punching bag. We can also see the sweat beads on

Devon’s body. Devon looks to be in excellent shape, but not overly so, also there are some scars on his back. It

appears as though he was racked across the back by some animal ( Werewolf ????). [ Large Panel 1/2 Page ]

 

Panel 2:

 

Devon: Ok Tommy, Kathy.

 

Scene: We see several of the boys, and a couple girls raise their arms. Tommy is a twelve year old boy, wearing

sneakers, shorts, and boxing gloves. He is of average build, maybe just little on the scrawny side, While Kathy is

an attractive girl of 13 or 14. She is wearing a T-shirt, shorts, boxing gloves, and boots. She has her hair tied

back in a pony tail. Both Tommy, and Kathy rise as Devon calls their names.

 

Panel 3:

 

Scene: In the background a phone can be heard. We see Tommy holding the punching bag as Kathy punches it.

Panel 1:

 

Scott: Father, you have a phone call.

 

Devon: Thank you, Scott. Take over for me will you.

 

Scene: A fairly muscular man in his late 20’s, dressed in a sweat suit enters the room telling Devon that he has a

phone call.

 

Panel 2:

 

Scene: Devon exits the room, entering a hall where the phone is located. The phone is off the hook waiting for

him to pick it up.

 

Panel 3:

 

Devon: Hello.... Yes... I understand, I’ll be there as soon as I can.

 

Scene: We see Devon talking on the phone. Devon has a saddened look on his face.

 

Panel 4:

 

Caption: Several minutes later.

 

Devon: Sorry Scott, but something has come up and I have to leave immediately.

 

Scott: I understand Father.

 

Scene: We see Devon, just inside the gym, with the entry way into the hall just behind him. Scott is on the other

side of the panel. Devon looks a bit worried, possibly sad. Devon is now dressed in his usual priestly

clothes/frock/ get up etc...

Panel 1:

 

Caption: Later that day at the Church in the town of Galia.

 

Priest: Mayor, I have just received word. Help is on the way.

 

Mayor: Thank GOD!

 

Scene: The Mayor is a rather stout(heavy set/Fat) man in his late 40’s, while the priest is a rather tall and thin

individual in his mid 30’s. The mayor is dressed rather richly (Like something out of either the movie "The Pied

Piper" or "The Inspector General"). We see the priest hanging up the phone, from behind his desk, while the

Mayor sits in front of said desk. In the window behind the desk we can see the sun has almost set.

 

Panel 2:

 

Priest: You had better be on your way home before the sunsets.

 

Mayor: I agree. With those blood sucking ghouls out there no one is safe, not even a priest. As poor Father

Frank found out last night.

 

Scene: [Fairly large panel - as the lettering can a test. Probably 1/2 page.] Close up of the two men facing each

other from across the desk.

 

Panel 3:

 

Lord Sash: Soon, VERY soon you shall DIE, Devon.

 

Scene: Inside a circular panel, we see a the smiling, shadowy figure of Lord Sash, The Red Cardinal of Death.[

Remember Lord Sash looks like Tim Curry did in Walt Disney’s version of ‘The Three Musketeers’

Panel 1:

 

Caption: Elsewhere in the outskirts of the town of Galia, as the sun sets.

 

Scene: In a dark, damp place we can see a large number of caskets, and rats, lots of rats. One of the caskets is

on a stage or something, this casket has a crest of some sorte on it. The lids on the casket’s are opening with

creaks. Their is very little light with in this tomb of sortes, we can see the rats scurry about.

Panel 1:

 

Vampire Queen: YESSS! Its time to feed, children. HAHAHA!

 

Scene: We see the Vampire Queen stretching as she rises from her coffin.

 

Panel 2:

 

Male Vampire: My Queen, the priest is ready for you.

 

Vampire Queen: Thank you, David.

 

Scene: We see a small, frail young man down on one knee, with his head bent down in fear and respect, while the

Vampire Queen floats out of her coffin, in a sitting position, on a cloud of smoke, with her feet an legs upto her

knees hanging out at the end. The cloud is like a cushion beneath her rear end. [Remember her coffin is on a

stage/pedestal of some sort.]

 

Panel 3-5:

 

Scene: The cloud of smoke lowers, towards the floor, so she can stand up on the floor.

Panel 1:

 

Caption: Elsewhere in another part of the Vampire’s lair.

 

Priest: In the valley of death I shall fear no evil.....GOD help me!

 

Scene: We see the priest (from the beginning of the book), tied to a pillar. He has blood on his neck and shirt.

(Remember one of his hands is damaged, from the melted cross, the metal is still covering his hand )[ Large

Panel 2/3 page]

 

Panel 2-3:

 

Vampire Queen: Ah.... How touching. Praying for death already, and we’ve only just started with you.

 

Scene: We see the Vampire Queen enter the dungeon where the priest is tied to a pillar. She looks seductive

with an evil glint in her eyes.

Panel 1:

 

Priest: I pray for my soul, spawn of satan!

 

scene: We see the bloodied priest spit at the Vampire Queen, with a venomous look to his face.

 

Panel 2:

 

Scene: [ A small panel in the lower right corner] A scream is heard throughout the night. Inside the panel which

is heavily shadowed we see a backing away effect as if seeing from the other side of the entry way. Through the

entry way we see the Vampire Queen about to feast on the priest while a couple of Vampires eagerly wait their

turn.

Panel 1:

 

Caption: Mid afternoon the following day.

 

Devon: Hi there.

 

Man: uhh Hi

 

Scene: We see Devon approaching the church in the town of Galia. The people still on the street look as though

they are scared of Devon.[ Remember Devon has a striking resemblance to Dracula ] The man Devon is talking

to, is an old man, who looks scared to death. In fact most of the people on the streets are old folks.

 

Panel 2:

 

Priest: Would you by any chance be......

 

Scene: We see the young priest, who was talking to the mayor earlier meet Devon on the steps of the church.

 

Panel 3:

 

Devon: The names DEVON, I am a friend of father Frank.

 

Priest: I’ve only known father Frank for a few weeks. Did you know him well?

 

Scene: We see the priest looking sad.

 

Panel 4:

 

Devon: He was a friend of the family. I haven’t seen him in over 10 years.

 

Scene: Close up of Devon as a tear drop slides down his cheek.

Panel 1:

 

Caption: Meanwhile: Outside the church.

 

: Was that him..... King of the Vampires.... Out in Daylight....

 

Scene: We see groups of old town folk standing outside the church, nervously

 

Panel 2:

 

: We’re DOOOOMED!

 

: uhhh huh.

 

Scene: We see an old man with a cane, sitting down on a bench, in front of the church. He is the one to say we’re

doomed. He is surrounded by a the large group of town folk.

 

Panel 3:

 

Priest: I take it you know what is happening here?

 

Scene: Inside the church we see Devon and the Priest.

Panel 1:

 

Devon: I’ve heard the Vampires are back.

 

Scene: We get a close up of Devon, who has a look of distaste on his face.

 

Panel 2:

 

Priest: Yes, and last night they took Father Frank.

 

Devon: WHAAT!!!

 

Scene: Devon looks shocked / startled.

 

Panel 3:

 

Priest: Father Frank left me a note and a map. The map is to the tomb of the greatest of all Vampire Kings.....

DRACULA.

 

Devon: [ Thinking ] Dracula ? I thought he was just a myth.

 

Scene: [Fairly Large Panel] Devon still in shock.

Panel 1:

 

Devon: What’s in the note?

 

Priest: Just a warning about the tomb. It says that "Dracula was entombed alive, and warns against removing

the blessed *****".

 

Scene: [ Fairly Large Panel ] Devon begins to look determined almost as if a fire burns with in him. The Priest is

holding the note, reading it.

 

Panel 2:

 

Priest: Part of the note appears to be missing.

 

Scene: Devon’s jaw drops in shock / surprise.

 

Panel 3:

 

Devon: Well, lets check out the map, while the sun is still up.

 

Scene: We see Devon and the Priest head out the door leading to the outside.

 

PAGE 16:

 

Panel 1:

 

Caption: Sometime later, outside the village of Galia.

 

Scene: In what appears to be a cemetery, we see Devon and the priest approach an unmarked tomb, which is

partly attached to a Mountain. On the Mountain is a dark, and gloomy looking castle. There is a dark shadowy

figure of a man watching, from behind a rather large tombstone / Monument.

 

Panel 2-3:

 

Scene: With a creak, they open the tomb. Inside the tomb, In the wall, attached to the Mountain, there is a

barred metal gate, beyond which is a passageway.

 

Panel 4:

 

Devon: Stand back!

 

Scene: With a kick and a crash, Devon kicks open the chained gate.

 

Panel 5:

 

Scene: Devon pulls out a mini flashlight as he walks down the dark passageway. At the end of the passageway

there is light.

Panel 1:

 

Devon and Priest: WOW!

 

Scene: We see a large, circular, ornate room, that is mysteriously lit. On the sides of the room there are marble

statues ( Classic Greek Statues ). In the Center, of the room, is a frosty, crystal coffin, with something about the

size of a cross on top of it. Inside the coffin, is what appears to be a well dressed nobleman.
