My Brother, RickOn August 19, 2002 my brother Rick Allen lost his battle with cancer. His was the most beautiful spirit I have ever known. He was a warrior poet in the truest sense, and lived his life with honor and courage. He is sorely missed by all who knew him.

One of Rick's dreams was to record a CD of his bardic style poetry, and so a few months before his death he did just that. After his passing, his wife Michelle, son Jason and several of his closest friends continued the work to add music and sound to his voice. Inconstant Bard is the end result of that labor of love.

This beautiful, haunting CD can be purchased directly from Green Phoenix Productions, the company owned by Rick's widow, author Michelle Miller Allen. A portion of all proceeds go to Rick's favorite charity.

Rick was my brother, my mentor and my friend. After every visit with him I always felt renewed and revitalized. He will live in my heart forever.

Postscript: Not long ago I had a dream about Rick. He was dressed in his wedding clothes, which were made by his wife and were of medieval styling. He rode past me on a horse, smiling that Rick smile, with a sword belted at his waist. After him rode a few other men. It looked as though they were embarking on a quest of some kind. Then the dream shifted and Rick, still dressed the same with his long hair billowing out behind him, was striding down a grassy hill. At the bottom of the hill was his dog, Cu. When he reached Cu he sat down in the grass, grabbed Cu around the neck and gave him a big hug and ruffled up his fur, all the while laughing. Then the dream faded, but I think he sent this image to me to let me know he is happy and having the time of his after-life!
