Daffodils
As if to prove that I do occasionally draw things other than cartoon monsters, here’s the illustration I made for my mother as a surprise Christmas present this year. Aww, eh?
Unusually for me, there’s very little ink at work here. Only the outlines of the petals were drawn with a pen; everything else is coloured pencil, including the corona (or the orangey trumpet bit in the middle, for the less botanically adept among you). Even more unusual is the fact that it took just under a week to finish, which is something of a record by my standards. Mum really liked it as well, and it was certainly a bit more interesting than a lump of lavender-scented bicarbonate of soda that makes your bathwater look like a fizzy drink.
I love it when a plan comes together.
