An analysis of other companies providing similar services as the business seeking to develop a web presence is one of the steps in developing a web site. By going to the free service offered by Netcraft (http://www.netcraft.com), we can determine the operating systems (OS) and web server software (WSS) that these companies use to host their site.

I do not suggest using this as a main element in deciding which web host to use but it may be a factor once other elements are considered. However, if FrontPage is going to be used to build/maintain the site and built-in features specific to ForntPage (such as their forms, templates, counters, FTP) are going to be used, then the web host will have to offer Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS). Version 5.0 would be needed if using FrontPage 2000.
