Valgarv/Lina
Umm, I don't think this particular pairing would work out. Val hates Lina. I mean really, really hates her. He blames her for Gaav's death. And then there's the fact that Lina and Gourry are sort of a couple. Besides, can you imagine the fights these two would have? Yikes!
Valgarv/Amelia
Call me crazy, but I just don't see this happening.
Valgarv/Sylphiel
I actually wouldn't mind seeing these two get together. She's a sensitive, sympathetic soul who could understand his pain and comfort him in his dark times. But then again, she'd have to get over her thing for Gourry; and that's not likely to happen.
Valgarv/Eris
I can see the funny looks this is getting. But hear me out! These two have a lot in common. They're both vengeful and obsessive. They both came to hate Lina after their respective masters were killed. Valgarv and Eris both sought to right the wrongs inflicted upon them by summoning something (Dark Star and Zanaffar, respectively). I don't think that there's any other character that could identify with Val the way Eris could. But she's dead now, so it doesn't matter.
Valgarv/Filia
Yes! They're perfect for each other! She understands him better than the other characters, and she feels sorry for all that he's been through. Sure, Val hates her race for destroying his, but he doesn't really have anything against her as an individual (unlike Lina). She obviously cared about him, otherwise she wouldn't have taken it upon herself to give him a second chance.
Yeah, I know there's a bunch of people out there who say Filia belongs with Xellos. But whom does she actually end up with at the end of Slayers Try? Xellos? No, it's Valgarv!!! Neener, neener, neener! =P (Sorry, that's my Valgarv/Filia bias talking.)
OK, it's pretty much a fact that they're going to be part of each other's lives. But whether they have a normal mother/son relationship, or if it changes when Valgarv comes of age remains to be seen. I'd like to think that there's a good chance of the latter happening. They look so cute together!
