Starbase T'Plana-Hath serves as the headquarters of the 5th Fleet, or Thunder Fleet, which is based in the Alpha Quadrant. The station is commanded by Rear Admiral Marcus Richardson

The flagship of the Thunder Fleet is the USS Vigilance, which is currently docked to recieve repairs and refits. The Vigilance is a Sovereign class starship, modified to carry fighter craft. Her fighter compliment can be augmented from the fighters assigned to the Starbase, if needed. The Vigilance is frequently responsible to provide security for the various sectors patrolled by Thunder Fleet.

The station orbits the planet New Aries, which is home to Outpost T'Lar, a terraforming station. New Aries has one moon, Sampson. In orbit of Sampson is Salvage Yard 168, which T'Plana-Hath uses as a source for parts on occasion.

Starbase T'Plana-Hath features a number of facilities for use by civilians and Starfleet Personnel alike. Listed below are some of the highlights.

Vulcan Cultural Center/T'Plana-Hath Academy A training center for Students enrolled in the Vulcan Science Academy. Vulcan Cultural Studies and Zenorelations/Diplomacy courses are offered, as are internships with the Terraforming Outpost T'Lar on New Aries, which the Starbase orbits. Zoological Gardens Starbase T'Plana-Hath has a large zoological park on one of it's lower decks. Visitors and off-duty crew are welcome to come enjoy the sights. Research is carried out regarding animal behavior, and ecosphere mechanics. There is always something amazing to behold. Aquatic Park Just two decks down from the Zoological Gardens, the starbase Aquacultural Research Lab hosts a variety of marine life from throughout the Alpha Quadrant. There is a public area where the various creatures can be seen, and a small Hydroponics facility to be toured (the main Hydroponics Facilities are off limits to visitors-Authorized Personnel only). Stellar Observatory High atop Starbase T'Plana-Hath lies the Stellar Observatory. Here massive sensors and telescopes observe and record a variety of astrometric data. Wondrous galactic sights are always a reason to visit. Starbase Promenade The main thoroughfare for the Starbase, here a variety of merchants, traders, and restaurateurs are licensed to do business. One never knows what food, drink, bargains, or artifacts they may find here. Some shops change frequently, others have been there for years. Two popular attractions are the Delta Moon (a dance club, run by Ivos, a Deltan) and The Gold Bar (a bar run by Bartok, a Ferengi). Holo-Theatres Larger than standard Holo-Suites, these facilities can provide interactive or passive holographic entertainment. Each theatre features a holographic Usher program, to assist with the programming of each performance. It functions as a more personal interface to the computer. Smaller, more individualized holosuites also exist, and the "Usher is still available to assist in programming. Warrant Officer Academy Starfleet Crewmen rising above the rank of Chief Petty Officer may enroll in the Warrant Officer Academy. Extensive Field Training is given in locations best suited to the areas of specialization the Warrant Officer will study. Warrant Officers can be either Naval or Marine in background. T'Plana-Hath takes crewmen who will study in the fields of Small Vessel Piloting, and Starbase Operations. Warrant Officer Instructors and their enrollees are not uncommon to spot around the base.
