Yahtzee! ![]() And here we are, with Blog Post #3. I hope you guys and gals have appreciated seeing 3 posts already on this site in the last 6 days, because I'm certain it's not going to last. For instance, since I won't be coming to work again until later this week (I doubt I'll have time to blog during training on Wednesday, but who knows), this area's going to be quiet for a few days. This is probably a good thing, as I won't have much to write about, anyway. The big news I have is the get-together with Kevin & Mel Vaughn on Saturday night, Kevin's been my best friend for quite some time now, and was a very good "Best Man" at my wedding, so we always have a great time getting together. The meal was delicious, as always *bows to the wife*, and we had an added bonus of watching Ida's new-found "Dog Whisperer" skills. At first, our dog, Brownie, wasn't happy to see Kevin & Mel, growling from the laundry room. Ida promptly put the leash on the dog and brought her out, telling Kevin & Mel to ignore her. After a few nervous moments, Brownie settled down, eventually getting so confident that she sat in Kevin's lap at one point, enjoying herself. We're still working on her wildness when it comes to guests, but at least she's getting better. Of course, we wouldn't have tried this, I'm sure, if Blake was around, but the little guy was with his grandparents that night. We were a little sad not to see him, but it's still always fun to hang out as couples, without a kid to worry about. Uh, except Brownie. Later on, we played some games in the living room, trying out Scattergories and Yahtzee. The fun part about Scattergories is you never know what someone's going to put down. I won't name any names *coughkevincough*, but we definitely had some interesting answers that night. As for Yahtzee, I made the critical error in judgment by not insisting we play as couples. After a few minutes, it became clear that Ida's luck was completely unbeatable, as she rolled not one, not two, not three, but FOUR Yahtzee's! For those unaware, rolling a Yahtzee means you roll 5 dice and they all have the same number. In other words, Ida desperately needed a lottery ticket last night. For now, at least, Ida has the crown as the Yahtzee Queen. And, therefore, since I'm her husband, that makes me the King, right? Yeah. Course, my score was less than half of hers, but oh well. Today (Sunday), after waking up from sleeping all day, thanks to work, I thought I might go and see about catching the WWE's Royal Rumble in a local bar. According to WWE.com, there were a few in town showing the event. Ida indulged me by coming along to check them out. Unfortunately, every one we went to ended up not showing the event, showing that wrestling, at least here in town, is on its way downhill. Bummer. I'll have to come up with a new plan to see PPVs cheaper. There have to be a few other wrestling geeks in town to split the costs, heh. Not much else going on, and I don't feel like boring everyone, so I'll cut it off here. Hope the rest of your January goes well. Peace, "I don't want to achieve immortality through my work...
