Trade
Wars 2002 is a RPG(Role playing Game). It has been around for about
a good 5-8 years(possibly more).
Trade
Wars was programmed for one type of gaming. Which was BBS's(Bulletin
Board System). These BBS's
have
things called doors, which today we would associate with the internet as
muds. It is a little more then just
a mud
though. It had ANSI(low tech art, but color! :), Multiple Ships
which you could trade in, sell, or buy more
of then
one. It was just an all around fun game, that a lot of people
like me got into back in the BBS Era :)
What is the purpose:
The Purpose
of this project is try to revive the game. It is also to bring to
the internet community a game that
is not
about blood and gore. The game had a quest to it, which was to kill
the ferengi(the enemy). In most muds
the
reason to play was to gain experience and become the most powerful(besides
the immortals). In Trade Wars
To become
the most powerful in the game is by trading and gaining money.
The more money you got the more
equipment,
ships, planets you could buy, or create.
Hey enough talk! how much is it gonna cost me!:
The truth
of the matter is this. NOTHING, and you can make the check to my
name "cash" :). All Kidding beside
now,
it will not cost anyone a single penny. The reason is, basically
because for the enjoyment of the game, I
feel
that it should not be charged for usage. The other reason is so that
way I dont have to pay taxes for selling
the
program :)
Do you need any help???:
As of
right now, I do require a few good programmers, and artists. The
programmers are needed as soon as
possible,
due to the fact I lack a few things to make this program, like internet
controls, file accessing
controlling(needed
for multiuser playing), and I also need programmers who can program into
the application
movies,
or splashscreens(basically animations).
Here
is the requirements:
-Visual
Basic programmer in 4.0, 5.0
-Must
have extensive knowledge in Internet Controls or File Accessing
-Sample
program
The reason
I do not do this project in Visual C++ is because I am far from any knowledge
in that language.
But
if there is a Visual C++ programmer out there who knows what they are doing,
who can help make dll's
and
other useful stuff to help this project on its way it would be helpful.
