The thought of humans attacking there home had caused them to build the Space Base. It looked like a hugh satelite, but it made absolute surtain that humans couldn't approach the planet.
Once aboard, we were met by a crowd of people. All were shouting and clammering about this and that. One of them, named Jagger McSpot, came up to me. Appearently, he knew who I was, but I had no idea whom he was.
Jagger had a problem that was similar to mine: being ridiculed for no reason. He told me that Ty accepted him and allowed him to be the acting captain in Ty's absence. Jagger's name told me that he was a jaguar, but he didn't have any spots! That was the reason for all his ridicule.
Back on Earth...
"I don't care if they do have a base in space." a captain told his lieutenant. "I want it to be taken out; we need to be the only ones with a space base! Now I want no further discussion on the matter until it is done."
"But, sir," the lieutentant continued, "our spy in on that ship and is preparing to attivate the self destuct codes. A fleet of Tomahawks are on the shadow side of Jupiter. In a mere ten minutes, the base as well as the inhabitants will be no more."
"I told you...wait. You said 'the inhabitants will be no more'. Will this include the ones living on the planet?"
"It most surtainly will, sir. It will be the most historic moment in all of mankind: the elimination of the animen!" The captain and the lieutenant as well as the officers in the room began to laugh.
"With them gone, the end of our power strugle will finnaly end. And those idiots thought that they were going to live!"
Alarms and sirens began to sound thoughout the Space Base. Both crews were thrown into panic, someone had attivated the self-destruct mechanism! With time running out, everyone began to pile into escape pods. An exterier attack began, the pods were being destroyed.
"We have no way out!" Ty concluded. "We're going to die."
"I can't believe that this is happening! Who would do such a thing?" I wondered.
"Humans, what they don't understand they destroy. It was in plain English, they will never understand they we won't attack unless provoked." Ty answered.
A bulkhead broke and flames began to fill the deck. Everyone knew who was attacking them, but I couldn't believe that they would do this to a peaceful world. Coughing and choaking on smoke, I began to search for my crew. I notice Jagger, on the ground, unable to move. I threw him on my shoulder and continued to search. Ty and Ryan were side by side, in the same condition as Jagger. Panthra and Strike were thrown down one flight of stairs , but they seemed to be doing alright. I Helped them to the limo and tried to find Leon. The deck was filled with smoke so it was hard to see. I bumped into a body: it was Leon.
"I set of the alarms-I am a traitor. I was paid to do this. The animen are doomed! And there is nothing you can do to stop it!" Leon died. His face looked like rubber. A mask covered a human face. I was being led like a fool.
"I can't believe that humans would stoop this low." I said as I returned to the limo. "Leon... he was a traitor. How could I have known?"
The bay doors were blown away and lasers began to hit nearby walls and the ground near us. There was nowhere to go. I removed my watch, forcing me back into a human form. I placed the watch on the controls of the limo and pressed the teleport button. The limo vanished just as a laser stuck the spot it sat. The limo reappeared in the tunnel of the underground base.
"Sir, we must leave the planet before they destroy us!" General Leo told. "Where's Leon?"
"You mean the traitor?" Ty growled as he rapped his claw around the troat of the general. "Thanks to him, I lost my crew and my ship."
"Ty, don't kill him. It's not his fault that this happened. Those humans are the ones responsible. He was human! Leon was human!"
Ty realeased the general and appologized for the way he acted. Everyone went to the bridge and took their positions. The ship took off as the fleet of Tomahawks began to destroy the city. The weapons of my ship locked onto several of the Tomahawks and were destroyed. The ship landed near a building that was being evacuated the last two were stranded on the roof. the ship gentilly rose to the roof.
"Get in." I told the two. They boarded the ship just as the building collasped. "I still can't believe that they are doing this."
"You...you're human!" the monsterous panther spoke out. "Why would you want to help us? Humans never helped us before."
"Well, I'm not like those morons." I declared. "I turned my back to them years ago, when they killed my friend. He was a lion. Before he died, I showed him that I would stand by his side to the bitter end. I killed those mangy poachers without giving them a chance to reload. I never left his side, even until death. But now, he doesn't remember me."
"Chester, we're under attack! Are you ready to depart."
"Yes, return fire. I'm on my way up." I instructed Ty. I turned to the two from the building. "Follow me, I'll take you to the bridge."
At the bridge, the crew was hard at work, trying to ride us of the human pests. Several shots were fired and a couple of fighters were destroyed. I ordered them to forget about them and to get us out of here. The quickly followed and we were shortly out of the grasp of the gravity of Io. Several fighters pursued us. We wasn't out of the clear yet.
