Star Trek

'Space, the final frontier. These are the voyages of the starship Enterprise. It's continuing mission: To explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no one has gone before.'

The above line appears at the beginning of every episode in Star Trek The Next Generation. It has always been my favorite TV series and movies. The  eye catching special effects and the kind of peacefulness is very intriguing. They explore instead of conquer. They make first contact instead of invade. It really is fascinating. The design of my site is inspired by the computer panels seen in this series.

The 24th century setting takes audiences to a technologically advanced universe. Poverty is long gone and humans co-exist peacefully. Humans has extensively explored space and made contacts with various species. Many of the peace loving species came together and formed the United Federation of Planets.

Un like humans, there are species with other cultures. The war loving Klingons, the cunning Romulans and the conquerous cybernetic life form called the Borg are just some examples. The Klingons always wanted to rage war and respect honor. The Romulans play political games. They both developed advanced weapons and cloaking systems which allows them to be invisible to sensors and the naked eye. The Borg Collective stops at nothing to achieve their goals. They can survive 70% damage and still remain functional and have advanced adapting capabilities, making a same kind of attack useless after a few hits.

The main characters are senior officers on board the U.S.S. Enterprise, the flagship of the Federation. This 1 kilometer long starship has warp engines for faster-than-light-speed flights, deflector shields to block attacks, phaser banks to attack and photon torpedoes for added fire power. more than 1000 crew members work on the Enterprise. People do not get paid. They work to better themselves.

I love so many aspects of it that I do not know where to begin. You will understand if you like it as much as I do. I also own a lot of Star Trek merchandise including 4 different models of the Enterprise, its blueprints and a technical manual, describing many of the technology in Star Trek from the material and process of starship building to the food replicators and transporters.
