 | From a rich family Deanna's father, Charles Stockbridge was a multiple Oscar winning producer with a million-dollar mansion in the Hollywood hills while his butler worked endless who was Karla's (moonstone's) father. Deanna was the spoiled young daughter of Karla's parents' employers who she was supposed to be a "companion" to and pretend she didn't mind. Karla had much contempt for the girl and only derived satisfaction from how stupid Deanna was and how easy it was for Karla to trick her. Later Karl August Sofen died of a heart attack at the age of 42 and the stockbridges decided to hired another couple to replace him. His widow was offered a place on the estate but she didn't want to take charity so Karla ended up away from the stockbridges and back to her parents' home in Van Nuys. |
