When the Thunderbolts went to Baron Zemo's Central American castle in Thunderbolts #43, with Techno posing as Ogre, he made a discovery of dried gelatinous residue on the floor in the shape of footprints. The footprints could have come from various tanks, and pods that Zemo had running at the time if anyone emerged from one of them. The Commission on Superhuman activates took everything out of the Castle. What they found in the scrub of the Castle was deceased cloned bodies of Zemo, which they destroyed immediately and one vegetative but sentient body.
The final member of the Redeemers appears in Thunderbolts #49 as the Fixer. Before his dramatic reappearance Warton says that someone has awakened and is ready to make a deal.
Now with Thunderbolts #52 there is a flashback scene with the Fixer standing in his bionutrient gel tank ready to walk outside of it. This seems to indicate at first glance that he walked out of the tank and left the footprints on the floor that Techno found. There isn't any clear indication of time in the scene and the location as to where this happens is unknown. It could have been at CSA headquarters or at Baron Zemo's castle.
If the Fixer did step out of the tank when the CSA took everything a few days prior to the Thunderbolts visit in Thunderbolts #43 and left the footprints on the floor then there is plenty of time to account for. Where was the fixer during Thunderbolts #43-49 and why didn't we see him before most of the other Redeemers. Did he go back into the tank to regenerate his body some more? Warton's comment about someone having awakened and ready to make a deal is assumed to be the Fixer. With that kind of comment from Warton it seems like the Fixer has only recently awakened meaning that he awoke at CSA headquarters and not at Baron Zemo's castle.
The other comment made by Warton is that they found a vegetative but sentient body. If the Fixer walked out of the tank at Baron Zemo's castle, he would hardly be considered vegetative. So that would mean that the CSA brought his bionutrient tank to CSA headquarters and he awoke there later.
If the Fixer didn't wake up until he was at CSA headquarters in both cases then the footprint is unaccounted for otherwise it's the simple answer of the Fixer stepping on the floor, which only leaves a few other questions. With all the clone chambers and regenerative tanks at Baron Zemo's Castle it makes one wonder if Zemo, himself is truly dead. A decapitation is much harder to recover from than the Fixer's neck being snapped.
In Baron Zemo's old Castle in Central America where the natives to that land now live , someone that looks like Kevin Costner is at the castle. One of the possible clones that the Fixer made that would account for the mysterious footprint.
