Techno

Real Name: P. Norbert Ebersol
First Appearance (as The Fixer): Strange Tales#141
irst appearance(as Techno): Incredible Hulk #449

A child prodigy whose engineering genius was evident from the age of three, he grew up disdainful of society for judging him by his looks and personality rather than his intellect and skill. After losing a number of jobs due to his arrogance, he turned to crime, and found what he'd been looking for his whole life--an arena in which his abilities mattered more than any other factor--and he's been an enthusiastic career criminal ever since. In addition to his membership in the Masters of Evil, he had a longtime partnership with the psionically-powered Mentallo and an extensive connection with the terrorist organization Hydra, including a stint as one of their section chiefs. As Techno, he modified the bulky weapons-harness he wore as The Fixer into his tech-pac, a mentally-controlled unit made of thousands of circuits and components, which he could reconfigure at will, creating a virtual arsenal of weaponry and other equipment as he needs it.

Techno attempted to escape the Elements of Doom in Thunderbolts#7, Techno's neck was snapped by Iron, one of the Elements of Doom. One of the elements had claimed that Techno was dead but what Techno had actually done was upload his consciousness into the Elements of Doom Citadel's systems just before his neck was snapped. Then tapped into his tech-pac where he had backed up a set of engram files just in case. Techno used his tech-pac and a few other odds and ends he absorbed and made a new body, which is constantly evolving, as he finds new uses for his robotic body.
The other Thunderbolts turned on Zemo in Thunderbolts#12 Techno stayed loyal and continued to work with Zemo as the other Thunderbolts tried to become heroes. Eventually Techno got bored not being in a lab using his mind on technical challenges.

Techno rejoined the team in Thunderbolts #33. After Ogre had accepted to be the Thunderbolts resident engineer and went back to the lower levels of the headquarters Techno knocked Ogre unconscious. Techno then put Ogre into cryogenic storage and took a cell sample from him so Techno could take on the appearance of Ogre. Techno enjoys the challenges that being a member of the Thunderbolts bring him under the guise of Ogre. Techno tries not to seem too perfect as he impersonates Ogre and finds the social interaction stimulating. Techno establishes a place of operation in the lower levels of the Thunderbolts headquarters where he monitors all of the team's activities as well as conducts his own experiments.

Having put Ogre into one bio containment chamber, Techno finds another one with someone that had been in it before he even arrived. Techno also adds Jolt's body to a third containment chamber after she is killed by Scourge.

Eventually Techno is also faced with the task of helping Atlas and his ionic instability after the Thunderbolts alongside the Avengers fought against Nefaria. Techno's challenges become nuisances and his lair is invaded by Scourge.

Techno is defeated by Scourge. Scourge instils concern within Techno that his redundancy program might be comprised and if he just lets his current body die to build another one. So in order for Techno to live he must draw energy from the three bio-containment chambers. After draining a small amount of energy Techno decides against it since the bio containment chamber with Jolt in it was special to him but he doesn't care about the two chambers. The stop in energy drain from the containment chambers will save them but Techno might not live on, his last thoughts are what would a thunderbolt do in this situation and concludes that a Thunderbolt would die like a hero.
