Misunderstandings
by Theresa Raffaele
It was going to be a normal day. Finally a normal day. B'Elanna was going to be fine after that holographic bastard tried to rip her heart out. And there had been no more distress calls to answer.
Since Tom had covered for the Doc all day yesterday, he didn't have a shift in sickbay tonight. That fact alone made it a good day, and it presented the perfect opportunity for him to have a date with B'Elanna. He intended to let her know in no uncertain terms what she meant to him. He just couldn't tell her last night when she invited him to her quarters. He just hung onto her for dear life to try to convince himself that she was really going to be okay. They hadn't done any more than kiss and hold each other. For some reason it just didn't feel right to go any further.
But now he couldn't wait any longer. His courage had grown. He had almost lost her yesterday; he wasn't going to take anymore chances that she may never know his love for her. No matter how frightening that love was to him.
"Paris to Torres"
"Go ahead Tom"
"Are you free for dinner tonight?"
"Providing there isn't any catastrophic disaster in the near future. Yes"
"Good. I'll be waiting for you in Holodeck 2 at 1900 hours dress formally."
"Okay Tom. Torres out"
A huge smile overtook Tom's face and he just stood there looking like a grinning fool in the middle of his quarters. After a few minutes he snapped out of it and went to get ready for the day.
===============================================================
At 1900 hours B'Elanna stepped into a beautiful little café on the water. It looked like it was supposed to be located somewhere in Europe but she couldn't pinpoint it. Maybe Sicily, or Spain.... She ceased guessing when she heard footsteps approaching on the marble floor behind her. She turned around and her red silk dress moved with her curves. She smiled when she heard Tom's sharp intake of breath. He had been enjoying the view from behind immensely, but it was nothing compared to the view from the front.
B'Elanna had put her hair up on the sides and it was curled in the back. This left the full and wonderful view of her beautiful Face and exotic bone structure. Tom was absolutely entranced. He immediately went to her. His black Patton leather shoes tapping on the floor.
He stepped back for a moment in an obvious appraisal of her. And then took her in his arms and whispered "You are the most beautiful thing I have ever seen in my life". B'Elanna stared up at him like he'd grown another head. She thought her body looked good in this dress, but her ugly klingon ridges prevented anything from looking even remotely good from the neck up.
"Thank You," She finally said, unable to keep the disbelieving tone out of her voice. Then she said, "You don't look so bad yourself." As she looked at him in his black double-breasted tuxedo, red vest and bow tie, and Patton leather shoes. "I never took you for the tuxedo type."
"Well I like to dress up for special occasions. And a date with the most beautiful woman in the universe always qualifies as a special occasion." She gave him that 'yeah right tell me another smooth line' look.
"I mean it. I have never seen anyone or anything as beautiful as you are. Would you like to sit down? Dinner should be served shortly."
"Sure"
After he seated her and himself he rang the little bell on the table.
A waiter dressed in a red jacket and white tuxedo pants appeared.
After he took their order and went back into the kitchen. The food was brought out shortly and they ate a wonderful meal of pasta, salad, and French wine.
When they finished their meal Tom asked her if she would like a tour of the program. She took his hand and rose from her seat. Before she could ask him where this place was, Tom wavered and clasped the side of the table for support. B'Elanna's strong klingon arms immediately went around him to hold him up.
"Tom are you alright?" He didn't respond. "TOM!! TALK TO ME! ARE YOU ALL RIGHT!!"
This time he responded. "I think so, the dizziness is going away." As his head cleared and he steadied himself, he said, "It was the weirdest thing, I felt dizzy and then I got a very clear picture of the captain in her ready room spilling coffee in her lap, and she screamed like it burned her. And then I heard you calling my name and the dizziness began to go away, and I couldn't see the captain anymore."
"That is weird. Do you need to go to sickbay?"
"No I think I'm fine"
"Okay, but if you start feeling dizzy again, we're going to get you checked out."
"Okay. Now where would you like to start on the tour? The lakeside? The veranda? The luxury suites upstairs?" He said suggestively wiggling his eyebrows.
"I don't care where we start. Where is this place anyway? Somewhere in southern Europe was my guess. "
"Well actually it isn't any particular place. I just put it together from the many places that I have visited on Earth. But you're right, most of it is from Southern Europe."
At that moment she looked up at him and smiled. And he smiled down at her. The rest of the room melted away and they began to kiss slowly, sweetly, tenderly. His hands caressed her back and touched her raised spine. She let out a gasp when he did that and felt the urge to hide herself from him, obviously embarrassed at another one of her klingon attributes.
"Don't pull away from me Bella, I love you, and I love every part of you, body and soul." She looked up at him with a look that was a cross between shock, horror, love, and exhilaration.
"What did you say?"
"I said I love you, body and soul"
"Are you sure?"
"I've never been so sure about anything in my life, I love you B'Elanna Torres."
" I love you too. Suddenly the tour of your program is not so interesting can you save it and give me a tour later. I think I'd like to go back to your quarters and pick up where we left off. Unless" she hesitated, "You aren't feeling well."
"I am feeling fine, I don't know what that dizzy thing was all about I probably just got up too fast, and I would love to go back to my quarters with you and continue what we are doing here, but I have to be honest with you, I have not always been as virtuous as I am now."
B'Elanna let out a little laugh. And he continued.
"In all honesty, I would love to make love to you tonight and every night for the rest of my life." He emphasized, "However if that is not what you want, then I think we should wait. I don't want you to be on the same plain with me as my flings have been. You are much more important to me than that. I love you; you are the only one that I have ever loved. There will never be anyone for me but you."
He paused and let his words sink in. She looked at him and none of the fear that he had expected her to feel showed in her eyes. There was a little confusion. A lot of love, and a little pain from past experiences. But no fear.
"Tom are you purposing to me?"
"In a way I am, we don't have to have a human wedding just yet, but before we become lovers I want to take the oath with you. I want to be your mate."
After a long pause, B'Elanna looked up and saw that Tom's face showed regret for what he had just said. Obviously thinking that the long pause meant that she didn't want to be his mate.
As if reading his thoughts, she said, "Tom", he forced himself to look at her "No regrets, got it!" He nodded. "You spoke from the heart, with courage and honor, the same courage and honor that drove me to tell you that I love you. I know it took some guts to say what you just said, so I am going to use what guts I have left, and tell you that I would be proud to be your mate!"
"You would?! You will?! Oh B'Elanna!!!" He pulled her close and kissed her passionately. "How do we start, I'm not too privy to all the details of the mating ritual."
"Do you know most of the words to say?"
"Yes, I'm just not sure what order things need to be in."
"Okay, are you ready?"
"I am more than ready." He said with an affectionate and somewhat roguish grin
"Okay, then just follow my lead."
She growled a low throaty growl, and began to kiss Toms neck, taking great care in inhaling his scent. She still couldn't believe they were doing this. Then she began to kiss him passionately, but stopped and burst into laughter as Tom tried to growl and it came out like 12-year-old boys cracking voice.
"Hey no laughing!"
"Sorry, but you don't have to do everything that I do, just go with what you know, don't improvise. I'll let you know anything that you may be leaving out."
"Okay"
They began to kiss again and she moved her kiss from Tom's mouth to his nose to his cheekbone and then a little lower. She growled again and Tom braced himself for what she was about to do. Then she bit hard on his cheek, drawing blood. She licked at the wound and her breathing became erratic.
Tom knew by his research and instincts that it was his turn to do the same. So he kissed her mouth, tasting his own blood on her lips and then moved to her cheekbone and then a little lower. He didn't growl this time, but he whispered "I love you, you are mine" and he bit hard on her cheek drawing her blood as she had drawn his. He waited for her to make the next move, as he needed to "follow her lead."
B'Elanna took her finger and gathered some blood from her cheek. Then she said "jlH dok".
Then she nodded to Tom and he gathered some blood from his cheek onto his finger. Then he mixed it with the blood on her finger, and they both tasted it. Tom then said "Maj dok."
Then they looked into each other's eyes and said. "Tlinghan JIH".
When B'Elanna did not proceed, Tom asked. "So are we mates now?"
"That is not the whole ceremony, but it is as much as we can do without having a full on Klingon wedding. Don't worry, it is enough that when we make love, we will be mates."
"Well, my soon to be mate, shall we proceed to my quarters?" He said in a low voice. She took his offered arm and he called for the computer to save the program.
When they arrived at his quarters he punched in the access code and gestured for her to go in. He was grateful that her back was to him because he felt that dizziness again and got a vision of Neelix cutting his hand and swearing in Talaxian while he was chopping leola root. Then the vision immediately disappeared and the dizziness was gone.
"Tom, Tom hello! Torres to Paris!"
"I'm sorry Bella I was just off in my own world."
"You weren't feeling ill again were you, do I need to call the Doc."
"No please don't, I'm fine. I feel fine really."
"Okay, but I am watching you"
"I'm counting on it"
They just stood there for a few moments and then Tom removed his tuxedo jacket, vest and shoes, and loosened his tie. He sat down on the couch and put his feet up on the table. He smiled up at B'Elanna and put his arms out for her. She was willingly enveloped in his embrace, and she snuggled into his chest. He thought he might have heard her purring, and was very satisfied by it. This woman, this incredible woman was going to be his mate.
He put his head back and closed his eyes, basking in the feel of her in his arms, when the dizziness struck again, he knew what would happen so he just stilled and waited for the vision to come. This time it was of Lieutenant Carey in the Gym dropping a 20-pound weight on his foot and breaking it. Then the vision faded and all was normal again. He was thankful that B'Elanna hadn't noticed. But he was troubled as to what these visions might mean and why he was getting them. Apparently they weren't of all that much importance, but it seemed that every time he had a vision the scene was worse than the last. But he would think about that another time. He needed to become B'Elanna's mate, and they had waited long enough. He looked down into her face and she said, "tired?"
"Not too much, just trying to convince myself that this isn't a dream. It feels so good to hold you."
"I love you"
"I love you too"
As they began to kiss Tom ran his hands up and down her side and then up her back ridges. She didn't try to pull away from him this time.
"I think it's time we become mates." He whispered in her ear. She didn't say anything, but smiled in response, took his hand, and led him to the bedroom.
======================================================
Throughout the night Tom had gotten the dizziness and then visions of people on the ship obtaining minor injuries. He was curious about the origin of these visions and even thought that Q may be involved. But for some reason he wasn't worried about it. He just knew that he would be all right. The only thing that worried him was the idea that these things might indeed be happening, and he was seeing them as they happened. But he tried to get some sleep, as he hadn't seen anything too disturbing. Only Harry stubbing his toe, and Vorik getting beat up in a Vulcan martial arts program.
As he settled in a little more after another small bout of dizziness, he put his arm around B'Elanna's waist and held her to him. He placed a kiss in her hair and she snuggled back into him. At about 0330 he was awakened by another bout of dizziness and a vision of B'Elanna tripping over the wadded up covers on the way to the bathroom. He opened his eyes and B'Elanna was still sleeping next to him. He was relieved that the visions seemed to be false, as she had not gotten out of bed. But 10 minutes later, he felt her pull away from him, and he said, "what's wrong B'Elanna?"
"I have to go to the bathroom"
"Oh" He said sleepily. But then sat up quickly as he remembered his last vision. He was about to warn her about the covers on the floor when he heard her say "Damn it!" as she tripped over them and hit her head on the wall.
"Are you okay B'Elanna?"
"I'm fine! I forgot about these damned blankets."
"I know I tried to warn you, I saw it in a bout of that same dizziness from earlier, about ten minutes ago."
"What do you mean Tom"
"Well you know how I told you that I saw the captain spilling her coffee and burning herself."
"Yeah"
"I have had about 7 different visions like that tonight, just people doing little things to hurt themselves, then about ten minutes ago I had a vision of you tripping on those covers. But when I opened my eyes you were still sleeping so I thought that it was just like a dream, and not really happening. But apparently I am seeing these things happen right before they do."
"Wow Tom, are you saying that you are seeing into the very near future?"
"Yes, I know it's weird, but it is only people getting hurt. All of my visions have been fairly minor, so I'm not that worried about it."
"What do you think may be causing this?"
" I have no idea. Have you seen Q around here anywhere?" He joked.
"No, but I'll keep an eye out. Are you sure you're okay, if this continues I want you to go to sickbay."
"Yes my mate, but until then, why don't you go to the bathroom, you're doing the pee-pee dance." He laughed.
"I'm doing the WHAT!"
"You know the pee-pee dance" As he stood up and demonstrated, she rolled her eyes, but had to laugh at the sight.
She went to the bathroom, and then came back to the waiting arms of her mate. Her mate. What an exciting thought.
================================================================
When he woke up again at about 0725 he saw the love of his life sleeping peacefully. He smiled down at her and she stirred. She opened her eyes and smiled back at him.
"Good morning." He said, and she heard a little hesitation in his voice. He pulled back from her and turned onto his back, and closed his eyes. He was feeling dizzy again, but he didn't tell her because he didn't want to worry her. After he escorted B'Elanna to Engineering he would go into sickbay and figure out what the hell was happening.
"Tom?"
"I'm okay B'Elanna, just give me some space for a second. His eyes were still closed so he didn't see the hurt look on B'Elanna's face. He had barely said good morning to her, and now he didn't want to be near her. She should've known this would happen. He opened his eyes still feeling dizzy, the spell was lasting much longer this time, the vision wasn't coming nearly as quickly either, and he saw tears in B'Elanna's eyes.
He reached out for her and she didn't move. She dropped her gaze and moved to get off of the bed, he sat up grabbed her by the arm so that she wouldn't leave him. She shrugged his hand off of her arm, but she still remained on the bed. She wasn't sure why she didn't just get up and leave. He obviously had had a change of heart.
But something made her stay. Maybe it was a hope that she was wrong. That he did indeed love her. That he didn't just tell her that to get her into bed.
He said "I'm sorry B'Elanna." He meant to say more, but he just couldn't. The vision was starting, but he didn't want to hurt her so he tried to keep his mind clear and in the present. He could sense that she was hurt, even though she hadn't said anything more. "I love..." He meant to say "you", but then the vision became more clear and he saw Meghan Delaney falling from a cliff in the holodeck and lying unconscious at the foot of the mountain. Apparently the holodeck safeties were off line. He had no idea how he knew that, but he did. At this horrifying sight he whispered in a hoarse voice "Meghan". And then the vision faded as B'Elanna sat there with shock, anger, and intense pain, etched on her face.
"WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY?" She screamed.
"B'Elanna, I,.. Oh no that's not what I meant to say. Please." He said as quickly got up to get dressed and head to the holodeck before Meghan could be killed.
"THAT'S NOT WHAT YOU MEANT TO SAY, HOW THE HELL I AM SUPPOSED TO BELIEVE THAT. YOU BARELY SAID GOOD MORNING TO ME, AND THEN YOU NEED YOUR "SPACE", AND THEN YOU TELL ME "I'M SORRY I LOVE MEGHAN!" The tears were streaming down her face in a deluge, as she put her clothes on. "I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT I BOUGHT INTO ALL OF YOUR LIES, YOU EVEN TOOK THE OATH WITH ME, AND TOLD ME YOU LOVED ME, ALL TO GET ME INTO BED!" She sobbed, and headed for the door, pain, anger and insecurity overwhelming her. But Tom stopped her.
"No B'Elanna please don't cry, you have to believe that all that I said to you last night was the truth, but I can't talk about this right now. I have to go to Meghan on the holodeck." With that he ran out of his quarters and hoped that he wouldn't be too late.
"Computer locate Meghan Delaney."
"Meghan Delaney is in holodeck 1"
He raced down to holodeck 1, and made it there a second too late. He cried out "Paris to sickbay medical emergency, two to beam out. Computer end program."
When they reappeared in sickbay, the Doc helped Tom lift Meghan onto the biobed.
"How did this happen?"
"She fell from a cliff in holodeck 1, I think the safeties are offline. I got there just a minute too late."
"Cortical stimulator."
"Will she be all right doc?"
"I think I can cure her, yes Mr. Paris, your presence is no longer required. I am a brilliant doctor you know." Tom rolled his eyes.
"Don't I need to assist in the surgery?"
"No Mr. Paris, it is a simple procedure, I can do it alone."
"Okay Doc, but I need to see you later about something, please call me when she wakes up."
"Very well Tom, now get out of my sickbay you are in the way."
Tom left, relieved that Meghan was going to be okay. But then there was B'Elanna. In his haste to save Meghan, he had made B'Elanna believe that he didn't love her, that this was all a lie. How could he make her believe him? Would she ever forgive him? There was only one way to find out. It was now or never, he may not live through it, but he had to tell her what had just happened.
"Computer locate lieutenant Torres."
"Lieutenant Torres is in her quarters."
He gulped and blinked back the tears that came to his eyes when he realized just how much he had hurt her. He pushed the door chime to her quarters and there was no response. He pushed it again, and he heard a vase hit the door.
"B'Elanna please open the door, I have to talk to you!"
"BURN IN HELL PARIS!!"
" I may very well do that, but not for lying to you, all that I said to you was the truth, now let me in or I'll break in!"
"IF YOU TRY THAT PARIS, I'LL KILL YOU!"
"I'D RATHER DIE THAN HAVE YOU THINK THAT I DON'T LOVE YOU, NOW LET ME IN!!" With that the door opened and revealed a room where every thing was shattered, including B'Elanna Torres. She was standing in a defensive pose, with her back to him near the viewing portal. He immediately went to her, but didn't touch her. He knew he would be beat within an inch of his life if he touched her at all, so he got as close as he could get to her and still live.
"B'Elanna, I know I have a lot to explain, please turn around and look at me, I want you to know that I am sincere."
When she turned around, she stepped back a few steps to be further away from him.
They were both startled at the tears stained faces that adorned their mate. Tom's eyes were pleading with her but she would not be so easily taken in again, and Tom knew it. So he took the logical and factual approach.
"Before I tell you what has just gone on, I want you to know that I have concrete proof for every single thing I am about to tell you."
She nodded, still glaring at him.
"Okay, when I woke up with you this morning, I was in the middle of one of those weird dizzy spells that I was telling you about before. But this time the dizzy spell was lasting a lot longer, and it was making me nauseous. That is why I asked you to give me some space. I didn't want to have to climb over you if I was going to be sick. Then the vision came, but I knew that you were hurt by me asking you to give me some space, so I tried to focus on reality while I was still in the vision. I tried to tell you that I love you, but I only got the first part out because the vision overtook me and I saw Meghan falling from a cliff in the holodeck and laying unconscious at the foot of the mountain. Apparently the safeties are offline. So I said Meghan instead of you. I did not mean for it to come out I love Meghan, I meant to say that I love you, but when I saw her laying there in my mind, I said her name."
"What kind of stupid, outlandish story is that?" She said coldly. "You know Paris you are such a smooth talker I expected you to come up with something way better than that."
"Better than the truth? Sorry sweetheart, I can't do better than the truth."
"The truth ay? Well there's a novel idea, and don't call me sweetheart, you made it perfectly clear this morning that I am nothing to you but a good screw."
Tom grabbed her arm, and said, "Don't you ever say a thing like that to me again, I love you. I would marry you tomorrow if I could!"
"Let go of me!" She yelled as she yanked her arm away from his grasp.
"I know that you won't believe anything that I say, but you are forgetting something, I have proof."
"Oh I'm all ears." She said sarcastically.
"I can prove that I have had visions of people getting hurt both last night and this morning. First I saw the captain spill coffee in her lap. Paris to Janeway."
"Go ahead Tom."
"Captain did you by any chance spill some coffee in your lap and burn yourself last night?"
"Yes I did Tom, why."
"I will explain it later I promise, Paris out. Okay the next vision I had, showed Neelix cutting his hand while he chopped leola root. Paris to Neelix."
"What can I do for you Tom?"
"Neelix did you cut your hand last night chopping leola root?"
"As a matter of fact I did, how did you know that?"
"I just had a feeling. Thanks for settling the bet Neelix. Paris out. The next vision showed Joe Carey dropping a weight on his foot and breaking it. Paris to Carey."
"Carey here."
"Joe did you break your foot last night in the Gym?"
"Yeah I did Tom, it hurt like hell. Why?"
"Oh nothing I just wondered, Paris out."
"Okay Tom, I believe you about the visions. But that still doesn't explain, you saying that you love Meghan and then just running off this morning."
"I did not say that I love Meghan, I was saying that I love you when I saw Meghan unconscious. Here is the proof of that B'Elanna."
"Computer are the safeties in holodeck 1 working within normal perameters?"
"negative"
"When did they go offline?"
"At 0700 hours"
"Computer who was the last person to run a program in holodeck 1?"
"Ensign Meghan Delaney"
Tom looked to see if B'Elanna was paying attention. She was. "When did Ensign Delaney's holodeck program end?"
"At 0736 hours"
"Computer was there any transport activity shortly after the end of the program?"
"Affirmative, Ensign Delaney, and Lieutenant Paris were beamed from holodeck 1 to sickbay."
Tom looked at B'Elanna, who was sitting on the floor now, with her knees up, in shock.
"Paris to sickbay"
"Yes Mr. Paris."
"How is Meghan, Doc?"
"She is resting well, I repaired the hemorrhage in her brain from the fall. And she will recover shortly. It was fortunate that you showed up when you did however."
"Thanks Doc.. I'll come in to see you later."
"Do you still want to know when Ensign Delaney wakes up?"
"No that's okay Doc, Paris out."
Tom's eyes looked into B'Elanna's. He saw a lot of pain, but mostly uncertainty, and insecurity. He sighed, knowing that she doubted everything in the universe at that moment. Everything, his love for her, her beauty, her worth, the truth.
In a cracking, emotion filled voice he said, "B'Elanna? Do I need to show you anymore proof? I will gladly prove anything that needs proving if it means that I don't have to lose you. Tell me what will ease your mind."
"I don't know Tom, I have never hurt this bad before in my life. Not even when my father left."
Tears rolled down her face and she dropped her head onto her knees. Tom lifted her face with his hand and gently wiped the tears from her cheeks.
"I am so sorry B'Elanna." He said hoarsely. "I didn't ever want to hurt you, never, and here the first day of our being mates and I have lost you. I don't know what is happening to me with these visions, but I want you to know that you are the only person I love or want. You are the only person I will ever want. Please believe me. I can't imagine my life without you. I know that you will probably never forgive me for the pain that I Have put you through in the last hour, no matter how unintentional. I want nothing more than to take you in my arms and wipe away all the pain I See in your face right now. I would stroke your back and tell you I do love You more than I have ever loved anyone or anything in my life. I would tell You over and over until you were absolutely convinced that my heart is only yours, that you are truly my mate, that you're the most beautiful and wonderful person I have ever known. I love you B'elanna Torres. Please don't make me live without you!" Tears rolled down his face, and he didn't even try to hold them back. He hung his head and sobbed.
He knew he was begging, and it was a huge risk to pour his heart out like that, But he had to try. His pride was the least of his worries.
B'Elanna just sat there and stared at him, absolutely expressionless. She knew that if she said anything, she would lose control of her emotions completely. So she didn't show any emotion at all.
After a few minutes of silence. He foolishly thought for sure that she didn't believe him, and there was no hope. So he sighed and got up off of the floor, looked down at her and said in almost a whisper.
"Now that you know the truth, I'll go away and leave you alone." With that he headed for the door.
"Don't you dare walk out on me now!"
He turned around.
"You can't just tare my heart out, come back all teary-eyed and repair it, and then break it again by walking out on me."
"Then I haven't lost you?"
"No you haven't. And what kind of person do you think I am! You really think I would never forgive you for unintentionally hurting me!" She stepped over and took him in her arms, and said softly, "Don't you ever say another thing like that to me again." With that they both broke down.
They sobbed and held each other, and touched and kissed, and then B'Elanna stepped back.
"We need to get you to sickbay, and figure out what the hell is going on with your head."
"Okay, lets go."
================================================================ ============
"Well Mr. Paris it seems that you have picked up a virus that effects you on a nerogenic level. I am not sure where you picked it up, but apparently it gives you the ability to see catastrophes before they happen. No matter how large or small. Tom thought,*Then why the hell didn't I see the catastrophe of a big Fight with B'Elanna. I guess this damned virus doesn't cover breaking hearts only breaking bones.*
I have given you an antibiotic that should kick out whatever it is, I am not sure when you will be cured. But you will recover with a minimum of side effects."
"Thank You Doc. I just hope I can get back to normal. Even though I liked playing the hero with Meghan, I don't think that I would want that kind of responsibility on a permanent basis."
"Okay Mr. Paris now go get some rest. You look like hell." B'Elanna dropped her face at that comment. And Tom squeezed her hand.
"Let's go get some rest. We both need it."
"I can't Tom, I have to go to work. I am already late."
"You are relieved from duty today Lieutenant Torres. Your serotonin levels are much too low and I will inform the captain that you are to rest today."
"No way, I have to go to engineering. There is a ton of stuff to do down there."
"Don't even bother Lieutenant, I have already sent the orders. Now you two go get a little R&R."
The doctor smiled as Tom and B'Elanna left sickbay hand in hand.
==================================================================
"I'm am so sorry."
"I know, you did nothing wrong. It was just some misunderstandings. Don't worry about it anymore. We are mates now, lets make use of that status." B'Elanna said wrinkling her nose in cute and suggestive way.
"My pleasure."
Tom and B'Elanna made love well into the day, and then went to the mess hall to fuel the ships gossip. But not too much gossip since B'Elanna wanted to keep their relationship quiet. Tom was a little disturbed by that, but he didn't want to go through another fight with B'Elanna. So he saved that discussion for a later date. Right now he just wanted to focus on the moment, and B'Elanna.
