Gemma Files was born in London England and
has lived in Canada since the age of one. Her short fiction has been
published in Northern Frights 2, Transversions, Years
Best Fantasy and Horror #13, Seductive Spectres, Demon Sex and
Queer Fear, among others. Her short story, The Emperors Old Bones
won the International Horror Writers' Guild award for Best Short
Story of 1999 and was a finalist for a 2000 Aurora Award. Five of
Gemma's short stories were adapted for TV and appeared on the series The
Hunger. Gemma has two short story collections, both from Prime Books: Kissing Carrion and,
coming April 2004, The
Worm in Every Heart.
