Marie Jakober was born and raised in Northern Alberta. Her
first novel, The Mind Gods, was published in 1976. She has since
had five novels published (three of which are not genre). Marie's novel The
Black Chalice was the first novel to be published by Edge Science Fiction and Fantasy Publishing. It won first place for The Independent Publisher
Book Award, was short listed
for a 2001 Sunburst Award and
made the 2001
Locus Online recommended reading list. Her sixth novel, Even
The Stones, will be available from Edge
in April 2004.
