David Nickle was born in Newmarket Ont. (same town as
me). He currently lives and works in Toronto.
David writes horror/dark fantasy. His only novel to date is called The
Claus Effect (co-written by Karl Schroeder)
which is based on his 1993 Aurora Award
winning short story, The Toy Mill (also co-written by Karl
Schroeder). His short fiction has been published in the magazines On-Spec
and Transversions
and in the Canadian anthologies, Northern
Suns, Northern Frights
1-5 and Tesseracts 4, 5
& 8.
David's novella, The Sloan Men (Northern Frights 2),
was reprinted in The
Years Best Fantasy and Horror. It was also produced as an episode
for The Hunger
TV series.
David's short story Rat
Food (co-written by Edo van Belkom)
won the Bram Stoker Award
for Superior Achievement in a Short Story in 1998.
