Jena Snyder was born and raised in Wainwright, Alberta.
Her fiction has appeared in the magazines On
Spec, Prairie Fire and Underpass and in the anthologies Tesseracts6,
and Divine Realms. Jena's
story, Prescribed Burn (Tesseracts6)
was a finalist for the 1998 Aurora Award
and her story Love Knot (On
Spec), received an Honorable Mention in The
Year's Best Fantasy & Horror XIII. Jena's (as of yet
unpublished) novel, Puzzle House was a finalist in the very first
Chapters/Robertson
Davies Prize competition.
Jena keeps herself very busy. Besides writing she is a co-editor for
two publications -- On Spec magazine
and a quarterly non-genre newsletter. Jena also takes courses such as
Forensic Science, Sudden Death Investigation, and Crime Scene
Investigation from the Edmonton Police Service and the Alberta Medical
Examiner's office.
