Doug began
writing in 1995 and sold his first story, "Spirit Dance," to the
Canadian anthology, Tesseracts6, in 1996. Since then, he has sold over a
hundred stories to professional magazines and anthologies in twenty-seven
countries, including Baen's Universe, InterZone, The Third Alternative,
Best New Horror, Weird Tales, Amazing Stories, Cicada, On Spec, Oceans of
the Mind, and Prairie Fire, as well as anthologies from Penguin/Roc, DAW,
Meisha Merlin, Tesseract Books, and others. You can check out a complete

He was a finalist
for the international John
W. Campbell Award for best new writer, and has twice won the Aurora
Award (2001 and 2004) for best SF&F short fiction by a Canadian.
Doug's
fiction has been translated into twenty-two languages. He has used that
experience to develop his Foreign
Market List, a popular resource for short fiction writers who wish to
submit to non-English markets around the world.
Doug is nearly finished his first novel called
"Spirit Dreams", based on his award-winning short story,
"Spirit Dance." His first collection of short fiction,
Impossibilia, will be published in 2008 by PS
Publishing.
