Physical Description: Deska is about 5'9" tall, brown hair, kept shoulder length, and eyes that change from green to blue depending on her mood. She has an average weight, not plump but she is no bean pole. Deska has a scar down the left side of her face which she got in a freak fishing accident when she was 10 turns old. Deska always has a smile on her face and a dimple on the right side when she laughs. She can most always be seen wearing harper blue which also fits her Tillek background. Des has a small dragon pin that is always over her heart and a black diamond ring she received from a good friend.

Personality: Des is a very happy person and enjoys everything to do with the sea and being outside. She was planning on apprenticing to the dolphin hall, but she was swept up by music when she attended a gather at Fort Hold with her oldest brother, Fredesik, and her best friend, Mecasala. She is very happy with the way my life has turned out and the only thing that would make her happier would be a family, as Deska was raised with a strong belief in family and she love hers. Deska can be a bit pensive once and a while, and she will withdraw into herself on her birthingday. She had a twin brother but he drowned in a fierce storm when they were young children. She misses him terribly and yet she never mentions him to anyone. Most people don't even know about him.

Life Story: Deska is the sixth child of her parents, but not the last. She is 8 years younger than her oldest brother and 5 years older than her youngest brother. Her father has been fishing his whole life and is very much in love with the sea. He hoped that all his children would follow after him, but is content with the five that have. There are ten (her brother the only one not living) children in Des's family, six boys and four girls. Her mother is a very strong, caring woman, and loves her children almost to distraction. Deska learned to swim before she learned to walk, as did all ten children. She stayed at Fort when she went for a gather to begin her musical training. Deska's mother was not very happy that she didn't say good-bye, and it has caused a small rift in their relationship. She was in love with a wonderful man, Kellersten, whom she met at the Harper Hall, but he died from thread wounds acquired while he was traveling away from the hall. The loss of Kellersten brought up memories of her brother, Genke, and she went into a deep depression which nearly lost her her commission. Des has missed him terribly, but she is getting over the lost feeling she has carried from the death. Since her assignment to Threads End Hold, Deska has made lots of friends and explored her own feelings to the extent of falling in love again and recently being handfasted to a journeyman Healer named Crayg.  They are expecting their first child.

Pet Description: Sherin loves to swim and does so frequently. He can be heard humming along with Deska and other Harpers during classes and Gathers. He is very loving and is very protective of Des around all males, except Des's brother Fredesik. Deska thinks he is trying to prevent her from looseing anyone else. Sherin loves to perch on Deska's head of all places, which annoys Des when she is teaching, not to mention anything of the children's behavior when he does this.  Deska has taken to banning the firelizards from the classroom for just this reason.

Pet Description: Jester is about as scatter brained as a firelizard can get.   He has a viscous sense of humor and a very mighty personality, Jester thinks the world was made for him and his enjoyment. He is the typical male.  He can't be trusted to take messages from one side of the room to the other unless he is carried physically.  Deska has given up trying to train him.  She just feeds and oils him at his leisure.
