The Gallery, Part IV--Guest Exhibits 4

Third to be featured in the main gallery was Claire Wharmby, an English artist who has exhibited in Europe, Canada, and the United States. Her watercolors almost always treat fantasy subjects, and her dragons are gentle and whimsical, a little older and wiser than Real Musgrave's precocious pocket dragons. The source of these images are greeting cards from Canterbury Studio in Vermont.

Should you happen to come across somewhere I could obtain any more works by any of the artists featured in this gallery, (Shalatain, Musgrave, Whelan, etc.) it would be great if you could please let me know about it. Thanks! :)

In "Garlanding", a dragon graciously accepts his due as the prince of the meadow. :)

This is entitled "Hatching", for obvious reasons. I'm not quite sure why the nest is so unguarded on the ground as it is, but perhaps this is a reflection of the friendly and trusting relationship between humans and dragons in Ms Wharmby's watercolor world.

Perhaps we are seeing our young hatchling a few years down the road, when a well-meaning wizard unwisely decides that it is time for "The Firebreathing Lesson".

Our draconid friend in "Surgery". He is certain to pull through with such a skilled doctor and nurse and such an attentive comforter.

As if to confirm that dragons and humans are fast friends in this world, a friendly firebreather patiently babysits while mother works in "Dragon Hugs".

"Choral Works" is the one 'sour note' in the dragon-human relationship. ;)

Entitled "Dragon Dance", this just goes to show that whatever dragons may lack in tunefulness, they atone for in style and grace.

If you have any comments about my dragon pictures, email me at dracnova@hotmail.com. Also, if you have a favorite piece of dragon art and would like to see it here, let me know! Maybe we can put it up somehow.
