Catherine is a Toreador/Caitiff vampire from Chicago
who arrived in the bawn by mistake after being dumped by her sire.
She ran into Jarryd, who was on guard duty at the time. Jarryd chose
to protect her rather than killing her or driving her away.
Catherine is not of the Wyrm. She has no more
taint on her than the average human. Catherine has
moved into Belleville and runs a massage service which, combined with Dominate,
allows her to feed safely. She provides the caern with information
on local happenings and vampires in return for a chance to live in peace.
She spied out a group of fomori as well as the first wave of the Sabbat.
Until the recent Sabbat intrusion, Catherine's arrival
was known only to the Children of the Sun and
Zephyr
at Dawn. Even now, the Pack are the only werewolves who talk
to her. Considering their reputation as vampire hunters, people are
a bit surprised that the Children show tolerance to Catherine. Most
of her interaction is through Jarryd (she can
even summon him telepathically using Presence), although she has also spent
a great deal of time with
Walks detailing the
powers
and customs of vampires.
With the downfall of the Sabbat in Detroit, the
Camarilla have begun an expansion effort in Belleville. Catherine
has bourn the brunt of this expansion thus far, including an attack that
left her staked through the heart. Only the timely arrival of Jarryd,
Kyla, and Walks saved her from final death.
She moved in with a knowing human (not a ghoul)
for a time, one who is a bit over-protective and seems suspicious of the
Pack. It was during this move that Derrick
finally learned of Catherine's vampiric nature. While his outburst
was alarming, it resulted only in a little property damage that was soon
repaired. The Pack is unsure what the future will hold, but Derrick
seems to have control of his temper for the time being. She has since
moved out again, but her human friend still seems very much in the picture.
Catherine is attempting to lay claim to Belleville
as its Prince. A recent meeting with the Camarilla left the encroaching
vampires under the impression that Catherine controls the Pack and can
send them out at will to protect her interests. When the Pack turned
a few wandering vampires to dust a few weeks later, Catherine sent it along
to Ann Arbor as proof of her intentions.
