Kyla is now acting as Mentor to a newly changed cub named Heather Spurlock, Alpha to the new Pack known as Wyvern's Claw.
Age: 18 Height: 6'2" Weight: ? lbs Eyes: Green Hair: Blue-black
Kyla Dumanian grew up in a rich suburb of Detroit.
Both of her parents worked their way up through the corporate structure,
and both viewed their only child as an accessory that could be used at
corporate family picnics. Kyla grew up trying to be the best at everything
she did. Shortly after entering middle school she found that she
was never going to excel academically, so she concentrated on sports.
Kyla eventually became captain of her high school field hockey team.
She loved leading the team to victory and always played her hardest, becoming
one of the most physically fit women in her school.
During her senior year, Kyla really started to rage
against the lack of attention from her parents. She also found that
her rage was easily awakened by the ham-handed attempts of the captain
of the baseball team to honor her with his presence. After this charmingly
self-centered individual cornered Kyla and declared that she was to have
the honor of being his date for the prom, she felt her rage begin to bubble
over. The result was that Kyla, in the process of her refusal, pushed
the captain into the wall, lifting him over her head (not a common occurrence,
even for the strongest girl in the school).
Later in the week, after her memorable refusal,
Kyla noticed that all of the women that happened to be in the locker room
when she entered quickly finished dressing and never started changing while
she was there. Then, when one of the freshman on her team seemed
to be cringing away from her, Kyla decided to find out what was going on.
She asked the girl what was going on. The answer was not what Kyla
expected to hear. There was a rumor going around that Kyla was a
lesbian. Kyla talked with the freshman, trying to change her mind
and find out where the rumors were coming from. Kyla's rage surfaced
again, but it had no specific target.
That night, Kyla was alone at home yet again.
There was a loud crash and a brick came through her front window.
Attached to the brick were explicit photos of women. Kyla's rage,
which had been simmering since her talk with the freshman, exploded.
She found herself jumping out the large picture window and chasing the
boys who lingered after their attack to taunt her. The boys RAN,
they really ran. Kyla recognized her "friend," the captain of the
baseball team, and managed to corner and tackle him as he ran down a nearby
alley. Sitting with her knee in the middle of his chest and her hand
raised in the air, Kyla realized she could kill this smarmy bastard.
She was covered with fur and the hand she raised above his head had claws
long enough to disembowel him. That's when the voice of reason, a
woman named Grace, entered the equation, stating that Kyla had humiliated
the boy enough and that she didn't need to kill him. Eventually Grace
managed to talk Kyla down, and she released the captain of the baseball
team, minus his dignity but with his life intact.
Grace helped Kyla calm down and return to a more
human form, though some of her rage still remained, leaving her hands clenched
and clawed. They returned to Kyla's house, where Grace revealed her
true nature by repairing the broken window with magic. Grace explained
that she was kin to werewolves and a member of the staff of a college that
helped women in trouble and those in unusual situations. Kyla accepted
a field hockey scholarship to this college, knowing that she would truly
be becoming a member of the Sept
of Gaia's Strength.
Kyla gladly left her parents' house, confronting
them and letting them know that she was going to make it on her own and
would not need their help or "care." She left for the caern, glad
to be headed for a place where she could use her rage and athletic prowess
to defend and save those who needed saving, including Gaia. She returned
briefly at Christmas with Madonna, and again to attend her mother's funeral.
The
Bolt of Nike is a fetish spear carried by Kyla Dragonslayer. She
received it as a present from the Black Fury
Freebooters (through Madonna)
as ammunition against the Tyrannosaurus Rex the pack had to hunt for the
Get
of Fenris. Kyla later learned that the spear was also a symbol
of the War Leader of the Amazonian Camp of Black Furies. With this
post, she also received a loyal pack of followers--the Storm
Bitches.
The Spear is a Fang Spear. It does Str+4 damage,
doubled on a successful Gnosis roll at diff 8. The spear is dedicated
to Kyla's Crinos form. In other forms, the spear exists as a Black
Fury glyph tattooed just above her heart.
Kyla Dragonslayer is the only member of the Children of the Sun who is able to get in touch with the spirits of ancestral Garou. She seems particularly able to contact spirits of Black Furies and Ahrouns. The following are a few of the spirits with whom Kyla has had contact.
Janna Full of Rage--Black Fury Ahroun. Janna fought in the War of Rage, eventually dying at the hands of the Gurahl. Kyla channeled Janna during her first challenge with Trask. Unfortunately, Kyla made a mistake in channeling, and Janna stayed with her long after the battle ended. When Kyla encountered the Gurahl in the Traverse City Zoo, Janna took over in an attempt to destroy it. The pack subdued Kyla, and Janna released her hold on Kyla.
Petra Gift of Comfort--Black Fury Galliard
Nike Wyrmslayer--Black Fury Ahroun. Nike lived in ancient Greece, and was the first owner of the fetish spear which bears her name. Kyla became Nike during a trip to the Legendary Realm of the Umbra.
Starla Gnash Talen--Black Fury Ahroun
In addition to these ancestral Furies, Kyla also channeled the recently deceased spirit of Maria Stands Last. This was the trigger which brought Madonna Backhand out of Harano, as it allowed her to say good-bye to her mother.
"The beginnings of life will flower around you and a Man, the enemy of our Tribe, who is close to you will betray you."
"A promising tribemate. The fury of her Rage seems to be tempered by the will to do something constructive with it, not with guile to gain something."
"An adventurous warrior that doesn't need to be reminded of her
responsibilities too often. Her Pack has done much to change the direction
of this Sept."
"She's got a lot more patience for some of the losers around
here than I do. (Not that Trask would notice, though!) When she gets bored
of this backwater, we'll be ready to team up and take on something more
interesting."
