The Wheel of Time Comprehensive List of Characters

If you have visited here before, you may go to the alphabetical list of characters by clicking here. However, if this is your first visit to this resource, PLEASE read the following.

This page will eventually contain the ultimate reference guide to the thousands of characters created by Robert Jordan in his book series The Wheel of Time. This page will eventually contain descriptions of all named characters from book one The Eye of the World through book eight The Path of Daggers from both the regular text and glossaries. This page will very likely contain SPOILERS. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! In addition, it will contain opinions about the believed and last known locations and conditions of the more important characters. I am currently attempting to compile a complete list of characters from the entire series. If you have suggestions, submissions, corrections, or comments about this page you may contact me at the following e-mail address and you will be added to my "THANK YOU"s page:

aes_alantin@geocities.com

For those of you who don't understand the Old Tongue, aes alantin translates literally as, "to all, brother", or Brother to All.

Please be detailed in any submissions and give character name, book, and page references where appropriate. For example:

al'Lan Mandragoran, tEotW 25:
His hair was long, and gray at the temples, held back from his face by a narrow leather headband. That face was made from stony planes and angles, weathered but unlined despite the gray in his hair. When he moved, Rand could think of nothing but a wolf. ...eyes as cold and blue as a midwinter dawn.
Finished entries in this Character Library with any other appropriate glossary definitions might appear as such:

al'Lan Mandragoran

Glossary Information

Lan; al'Lan Mandrogoran:
tEotW: A warrior from the north; Moiraine's companion.

tGH: A Warder, bonded to Moiraine. Uncrowned King of Malkier, Dai Shan (DYE SHAN), a title in the Borderlands meaning Diademed Battle Lord, and the last surviving Malkieri lord.

LoC: Uncrowned King of Malkier, a land swallowed by the Blight in the year he was born (953 NE). At the age of sixteen he began a one-man war against the Blight and the Shadow, which continued until he was bonded as a Warder by Moiraine in 979 NE.

Biographical Information

Lan Mandragoran first appeared in Emond's Field as Moiraine's companion. He was not revealed to be her Warder nor was she revealed to be an Aes Sedai at the time. They were merely strangers in a small village, apparently high-born strangers, but strangers nonetheless.

Physical Descriptions From The Text

tEotW, 25:
His hair was long, and gray at the temples, held back from his face by a narrow leather headband. That face was made from stony planes and angles, weathered but unlined despite the gray in his hair. When he moved, Rand could think of nothing but a wolf. ...eyes as cold and blue as a midwinter dawn.

See what some of the other characters have to say

tEotW, 19:
"The way he wears his sword, it's part of him, like his hand or his foot. He makes the merchant's guards look like cur dogs." -- Ewin Finngar, Emond's Field

Now that that's all done, you may proceed to the current list as it stands. But please remember, this is a work in progress and will be until the series finishes. Also, be aware that I just started this site in April of 1999 so at the present time, many links may lead to an error page telling you that GeoCities can't find that page. I am working as quickly as I can, but with any submissions by visitors like you to this page, it will greatly decrease the time for completion. Thank You.

So... On with the show!
