Lasting seven seasons, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine was the third television series inspired by Gene Roddenberry's classic series. Different from it's predeccessors, Star Trek and The Next Generation, DS9 has no Starship Enterprise and is set on a remote space station in the recently liberated Bajoran Sector of space. The station, Cardassian in design, once oversaw the slave labor of thousands of Bajorans before becoming the most strategic outpost in the United Federation of Planets.

The show chronicles the lives and adventures of those who live and work aboard the station. With the addition of The Next Generation's Lt. Cm. Worf and the Starship Defiant equipped with a Romulan cloaking device, Captain Benjamin Sisko and the DS9 crew defend the Alpha Quadrant from the evil Dominion and serves as diplomatic liesion for the Federation to Bajor.
