Raccoon City: Locale

In the hills of Northern Colorado a man might find many things: a little bit of peace and quiet, a lotta good huntin', a scrap with a bear, and cold, clear breezes. Raccoon City was there too, nestled up among the mountains and surrounded by the thick evergreen forest known as Raccoon Forest.

It was through Saddle Pass, over the Saddle Mountains and along the banks of the Raccoon River that you might find Raccoon City. First folks that was there, they had no talent for names, although all evidence points to the fact that the woods was indeed full of 'coons of all shapes and sizes. Guess they just named it Injun-style, after the first thing they saw when they woke up...

The City was South'a Middleton, North'a Westwood, far North'a Denver, and sorta Northeast of Griever's Mills -- not that you'll find many of those names on the map these days. Westwood was never much of a town, more of'a line of a dozen or so buildings where folks stopped overnight then moved on. Middleton was were a shortline rail used'ta run, before the fever of the rail wars heated up to boilin'... Griever's Mills was a nice town, once, but... well, that's the subject of a whole 'nother story..
